Well no, muslims can only eat halal, kosher (pressumbly) is a whole different process not to mention a whole other religion.

But, Kosher is definitely more cleanlier that Halal.

Do you mean Kosher meat?

The difference boils down to who/what is said for the slaughter of the animal, how can one be cleaner when virtually the same ritual is performed for both religions?

You not supposed to eat any kind of meat and Kosher is Not better than hallal animals eat the same crap and breathe the same air.
You really think saying a so called prayer and killing an animal removing some veins and so on is better, you throwing away all the good stuff.
Its good if you want to jack up the price and employ people and say my thing is much better.

I worked with a Muslim @ FutureShop, and he mentioned that he went to the Kosher deli at the local Loblaws. It follows all the rules of Halal, but has bonus rules on top of it.

Exactly.
I saw two shows on Food network in the past week, I do Let's eat and the Chef at Large when he went to the hospital. They have seperate kitchens/utensils/cookware for meat, and stricter guideline (removing veins).

What goes into you doesn't determine if you are dirty, because it all just comes out. Rather your thoughts and desires determine if you are clean or not.

The term "Halal" scares me away from the meat.
It does NOT make me want to eat it. Other religions beliefs on "Whats fine to eat and what isn't" does NOT concern me, and the whole "halal" label makes me even think the're doing something WRONG.

When I enter a Popeyes that says "WE ONLY USE HALAL MEAT" I just ask for change for my $20.

r ua a sikh.. i heard they don't eat halal meat for some stupid reason.. but then again.. they're not supposed to eat meat at all according to their religion

Halal meat is just regular meat but with a muslim prayer.. also the animal is not killed cruely.. but rather in a more respectable fashion.. according to the Koran.. a muslim must eat halal meat only.. therefor if u don't eat only halal meat,.. u r not a muslim.. end of story.. ask any muslim priest and he'll tell u the same thing..

Lots of animals do that and the chicken that you consume is worst than the pok you get in Ontario.
Its a very uneducated statement.

I read those 2 links, and it seems that the main difference for meat is the different prayers. For other items, it's a different story.

So unless the prayers are important to you, Kosher seems to be satisfactory for a Muslim.
