Mine are as follows.

Favorite
1. David Rocco- cute, his food looks really simple to make. Looks good as well.
2. Ina Garten - for some reason her food actually looks good and appealing, not always but sometimes well.

I like the guy from A Cook's Tour (Tony Bourdain), he's not much of a chef. But he has awesome commentary, and his show was (cancelled) very good.

Disliked
1. Rachel Ray - talks too much during 40 min meals, food doesn't look very healthy IMO.
2. Rob Rainford - seems like he adds whatever he wants too.
3. Kylie Kwong - annoying accent, also adds random ingredients to whatever she cooks.

Let me just say i'm dissapointed in your 1st choice but i think its the music in the show i really can't stand.

Sakai
Kinichi
Morimoto lose some respect cause he jumped ship, well sort of
My boy Tony Bourdain
Mike Smith

Big up to Chef Wolfman - Cooking with the Wolfman, Native Show in its 6th season.

TV Chefs? LOL. Get out and eat some food, then have a favourite chef.

How about Rob Feenie? He won on Iron Chef America. Also, even though she's annoying, Rachel Ray is cute. She's 36! Not bad...

For stuff that's waaaaaaaay out of my league -- Sakai and Feenie (though Feenie is a bit too heavy on the butter a lot of times).

For something that's closer to home-cooking and somewhat easier -- Michael Smith

Then again, my high-end/celebrity chefs knowledge is as far as FoodTV takes me

Sakai is the best.

My fav is probably Morimoto.

Feenie is also good.

Mike Smith I'm also a fan of.

Well you know Susur is simply the best but seems like he really wants to lower himself now because he's going to do the Iron Chef america i'd much rather see him do the Japanese Version.

Susur is a great chef. I've been to both Sursur and Lee many times in the past
Not sure about iron chef, I guess everyone wants publicity...kinda cheesy

I love Mike Smith. Bob Blummer ( The Surreal Gourmet) is good too. I have a couple of his cook books.
Jaime Oliver is OK.
Favorite Chef? Me!

1. Rachel Ray - talks too much during 40 min meals, food doesn't look very healthy IMO.
You're kidding -- you don't like Rachel Ray because her food is unhealthy, but you like Ina Garten? I've never seen any celebrity use salt, oil, and heavy cream as much as she does (Feenie comes a close second though).

As for Rainford...I like him, although I'm suspect of how good some of his recipes taste though.

Favorite chef: my mom. She's the one who taught me how to eat and eat well :cheesygri

Other notables include Michael Smith, Alton Brown (not really a cook but I like his show), and Nigella Dawson.

I don't like Martin Yan, Jamie Oliver (he's got piss-poor hygiene), and Iron Chef. Sometimes I think they just add foie gras or caviar just to make the dish worth more, without considering how good a match it is with the food.

Of course, my impression of these chefs are dependent on what they cook on the air. They may cook completely differently in their own kitchens.

ALTON BROWN: the Bill Nye of cooking shows!

I don't quite consider Alton Brown a real chef. But Good Eats is my favourite shows in FoodTV to date. Iron Chef is close second. :)

AudiDude

Jamie Oliver: Food looks like thrown together basic ingredients, I know I don't like most of his ingredients, mildly entertaining

David Rocco: Can't stand this guy, he talks about his basic dishes like they are the be all and end all, annoying mannerisms, I want to kick his ass.

Rachel Ray: Stuck between thinking she is kind of sexy and choking her because of her annoying mannerisms and acronyms

Ina Garten: Is she trying to replace the two fat ladies??

Nigella Lawson: Cooks things I wouldn't eat, decent sized chest :) , needs nosejob and visit to orthodontist

Bobby Flay: Pompous ass, knows what he is doing, but I saw him burn the sh*t out of lambchops once and he talks about chipotle and poblanos too much

Kylie Kwong: can't get past the accent

Martin Yan:says everything twice  and cooks the same dishes the same way.. every day

Michael Smith (Chef at Large/Inn Chef/Chef at Home): Chef at home sucks, should be called simple food for simple people, Chef at large has eaten a few things I wouldn't, Inn chef, I like.

Other: Mario Battali : Knows what he is doing and always has an explanation of why it should be done that way and has a story as to why and when it was done that way originally. Cooks too much fish, lose the shoes.

I can't stand that dumb Ina Garten woman..

Rob Rainford is amazing, I don't know how you could possibly dog him.. he's the wizard when it comes to BBQing/Smoking meats..

I voted for Michael Smith out of the list you had, it seems I'm the only one so far, although I agree with AudiDude that Chef at Home sucks.. The music is insanely tacky also.. Chef at Large & the Inn Chef were cool though

Wok With Yan is too plain, most of his dishes consist of corn starch, water, and soy sauce tossed in a wok

Martin Yan would school him

I swear Bobby Flay must've been such a loser when he was younger. He's the only chef I've seen who would come in and do "raise the roof"

Anyway, not much into tv chefs. But around toronto I've liked the work of:
Mark McEwan
Susur Lee
Winlai Wong
Michael & Guy Rubino
Some Bonacini stuff

Michael & Guy Rubino

From their show, Guy seems to have some amazing stuff and creativity. Michael is not really a chef. :D

I like Rainford a lot too. There isn't a whole lot he can't do with a BBQ. However, I think some of his creations are a bit of an overkill by using the BBQ for the sake of using a BBQ. It works, and works very well, but you could get away with an oven, or a steamer (especially for a lot of those tightly wrapped tin-foil packets stuff). Still, I like his show and his creations in general

Michael Smith with the Inn Chef. Not just his cooking and dishes but the style in which the show is presented is awesome. I record the 12:00 pm show on Prime everyday since I am never home.

Morimoto. His restaurant is very very nice too, and the atmosphere as well. Well I guess since you're paying top dollar. But the sampler plate was well worth it and the surf 'n turf that I got. The calamari salad was also a BIG portion (biggest salad I've seen and for only $12) and the soft shell crab roll was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG SO HUNGRY!

Gordon Ramsay - I like the show!

Ramsay's UK shows (Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and The F Word) really show off his cooking ability. Hell's Kitchen focuses too much on swearing... those shows mentioned above balance the swearing with excellent recipes.

Bobby Flay is the best chef in that list and thats a GAURUNTEE. Don't let the dumb food channel shows he has to do fool you, he's just an ass but the best damn cook. Whoever said alton isn't a chef doesn't know what they're talking about.

Flay is soo bleh....he made so many quail eggs and ham in his battles and yet won. He beat Lynn Crawford in a peanut battle in ICA. Alton Brown was puzzled as to why so many "Canadian" chefs pick on Flay. Rachel Ray has been heaping on the pounds possibly due to all the eating she goes to. Ina Garten's recipe is almost as good to homecooking as Paula. But I don't like Paula's sons. They had an episode where they went to Wisconsin to have some rootbeer and near the end of hte episode they were like "Ok bro where to?" "Well bro, we are up north almost near Canada" "Ohhhh boy, we better get outta here soon and head back south" Michael Smith emphasizes on flavour and Gabe and Rachel too much. Though he was the first chef to make me try silken tofu with chocolate ...yum. But +1 on Hiroyuki Sakai. What happened to Rob Feenie? He doesn't have any new shows anymore and Chrstine Cushing's cook with me has stopped airing. The Family Restaurant people I think are overspoiled but meh.
