how many people? what types of food do you like?

i'm having some friends over for a bbq today. making chili lemon jumbo prawns, chicken kabobs, garden fresh bruschetta and prosciutto wrapped melon.

kabobs are great, you can have beef, chicken, pork, prawns, use a variety of veggies... onions, mushrooms, peppers, cherry tomatoes, the list is endless.

ribs are a good choice for a crowd, make a few different kinds, pork and/or beef.

corn on the cob, each cob cut into 3 or 4 small pieces, buttered, seasoned and grilled.

there are so many things to bbq, its hard to know what to suggest.

thai noodle salad is a good side. add some sweet chili sauce to the cooked noodles, grated carrot, green onion, celery, fresh parsley, whatever.. throw in some big shrimp. it always goes over good when i have it.

Something different would be to have Thai satay skewers. Instead of the traditiona kabobs, this would be good. Pick up some bamboo skewers (sold at Superstore, Safeway etc... Soak them in water overnight (to prevent burning). You can put any meat on them (pork, chicken, beef, shrimp etc...). Make sure you buy the right type of meat, such as pork with a bit of fat, dark chicken meat, and flank steak for beef (remember to cut across the grains). Marinate overnight with any satay sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and white pepper. Put the meat on the skewers and BBQ. They taste awesome!

Find What?
you should head to price chopper with chicken at $1.00 per lb and stuff its a god time.
Pineapple and greenpepper will make anything taste great just remember to add salt last after cooking.
