overpriced.....
And all they do is fill it with rice and barely anything else, If I pay like 10 dollars for a burrito I want alot of meat! Also there hot sauce is wayyy too spicy, It completely covers the taste of the actual burrito and all you can taste is the hot sauce.. I definitley recommend getting mild next time!
Trust me, I eat spicy foods all the time and you do not want to have there hot sauce! Unless, it is differnt for the location near me...

it was about $8 for a burrito and soft taco with a drink (the special of the day)..
i agree there is not much meat, the soft taco was better than the burrito and the medium hot sauce was fairly hot (ill get mild next time) but i think its pretty good value and like i said up top much better than taco time/bell...

you do get a lot of food though. it's roughly the same price in the US, but in US dollars.

Unless they're flying it straight from the heart of Mexico, how can they justify $10?

How does it compare to Taco Villa?

yeah, the price is more than other fast food/take out places. but it is healtheir than say eating mcdonalds or whatever. so you take the good with the bad and there you have the facts of life.

Their tacos (beef, chicken, pork, or fish) are REALLLY tasty. And yeah, the hot sauce can be HOT! Good tho.
The veggies are crisp and fresh, and they put a lot on.
The tacos are only 2 or 3 bucks each I think.

Eating the keyboard I'm typing with is healthier than McDonald's... ;)

Just new to OP. The Kerrisdale location's been operating for 4-5 years at least. The West 10th location (near UBC) opens at the end of the month, or so they told me in there last month. :)
If you have trouble believing there's a $10 burrito at a fast-food place, go to a Chipotle (http://www.chipotle.com/) in the U.S.

I think their pricing is on par with other places like Steamrollers, Wrap-zone, Wrapinnis - we aren't talking about a $1 Reser's nuke 'em at the 7-11 type thing and they aren't the Taco Bell "scoop of beef with seasoning in a tortilla" style burrito - they're made to order, made fresh and stuffed with your choices of meats, beans, vegetables etc.
Besides they aren't $10 Burritos - they are like $7.50 or something and combo'd to $10. Better value for your money is the deli @ Que Pasa (the chip people) they were on W 5th until last year and they are out on 5 Road past Steveston Hwy.
Bought for the family today - while we were in Richmond:
August Special (Chicken strips, Burrito & drink) - $6
Serepe style burrito with Chicken Fajita filling - $5
Chicken Tostada - $4
I like Taco Del Mar & Que Pasa - but I can't turn down the Tuesday Loonie (or whatever) Hard Tacos from Taco Time :-)

Taco del Mar > Taco Time > Taco Bell
just like
Quiznos > Subway > Mr. Sub
in the sense that the ingredients are of better quality and generally taste better but you also pay more for it.
That said, I would agree Taco del Mar is a little overpriced but at least they have 2-for-1 Entertainment coupons (jumbo burrito), unlike Quiznos.
