10c for paper, cheap USB keys, LCDs... I wonder if they have that this year. It was a madhouse at Staples.

IF the sale starts Wed. they'll be moving most of the stock of the sale items to the back room sometime today. Not to be negative but I have always have had t fight for ANY hot deal at Stooples to the point I can't be bothered giving them any business. As long as FS or BB can match I'll go there.

The midnight madness thing had 400? sheets paper for .10 and I believe it was 64 crayons for .50, and a big box of coloured pencils $5 less $5 MIR. It was a Friday at the end of August as I remember waiting for the next hours deals beside where The Fabulous Thunderbirds were playing outside for Kingston Bluesfest.

Will this be advertised or do you just have to go in store, also, is it available onlineDuring last year's midnight madness sale. There were LCD monitors for sale, a Benq FP731 for $399.99 and a 19" Samsung montor for $549.99 IIRC. Can't remember if there were basic desktops on sale.

I find Hilroy lined paper to be a little "rough"... makes a difference when you write a lot and go through a lot of paper. Are there any smoother papers out there? Media from Superstore seems to be better, but about 4 years ago, they too got rougher. Still better than Hilroy though.

well, not really "better in quality" but RCSS has the "media" -branded paper ... haven't bought any "Media"-braned products at RCSS b4, so i dunno about the quality.

(btw, i think "media" is the RCSS-exclusive brand now... no more Hilroy :| )

i bought some garbage at the dollar store once..man, it sucked

just remember NOT everything at the dollar store is cheap and good quality....

Staples carries a Hilroy-branded 24lb extra-strength lined paper. It's very smooth to write on. (it's very expensive when compared to this deal..b ut you can't put a price on comfort, can you ;))

yes, the sale starts wednesday when the new flyer comes out...

Midnight Madness is August 21st (I'm 60% sure) but haven't seen any product for it yet so no heads-up about that.

Other deals tomorrow:
Refurb HP Media Center PC bundle 3.2GHz P4, 1Gb DDR2, 250Gb HDD, MCE2005 w/remote, Lightscribe DVD-RW, etc... with BenQ T705 and HP 3845 printer for $999.

Cisnet 160 - A64 3200+, 1Gb Ram, 160 HDD, DVD-RW with BenQ T705 and Lexmanrk AIO for $899

512Mb PC 2700 & PC 2100 RAM is down to $64

256Mb Sandisk Micro USB key for $29.99 (not too hot)

512Mb Lexar CF for $39.99

Norton Anti-Virus 2005 will be free after two $30 MIRs (one is only if you have a previous boxed version of anti-virus software w/CDs or manual.)

A 'Slide FX' mechanical pencil for $0.00 after $2.84 MIR ($0.45 for taxes)

Nothing 'great' but the media center isn't all that bad of a deal IMHO

I just picked up 8 packs of the paper. There's only 100 sheets per pack.. so it's not necessarily a HOT deal.

Staples also had $20 off $100 instore coupons for the months Oct-Jan ($20 off a month). Technically, you should get them with a minimum of $50 purchase, however, I got them with my $0.92 cent purchase.

I dont trust cd labels. I hear the glue they use really shorten the life of your cd and if the label comes off in the machine, it can really screw up the drive. Plus ive never been able to center the picture over the label using the software they gave me.

But ive also heard that the acids in markers can cause the cds life to be shorter as well.

I probably woudlnt use a lightscribe for every cd I make, just for special ones to give to others. partly for the cost of it and partly cuz of the time, mostly cuz I hear the media is pretty expensive compared to the other. But its cool for an option.

yes, according to DD (or so i've heard), the cd/dvd labels *does* seem to somehow shorten the life span of the disc....

But ive also heard that the acids in markers can cause the cds life to be shorter as well.

These papers were going like hotcakes. none left in shoppers world Staples.

pencils were for $0.44 (staples brand) and staplers for $4.99 and there was a ball point pen (pental) for $0.00 after $1.78 mail in rebate. There was crayola crayon for $0.99 . Markers for $0.99. a brother laser printer for $199 and a samsung for under $130. (sorry dont know model #)
hope that helps a bit
