Hey guys, the full series of Buffy is for sale at Amazon for 149.98$ - they had a pricing error yesterday @ 28.91$ so they are currently OOS but will most probably restock it at 149.98$.
*edit* 149.98$ links are now dead * * 244.99$ available here (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000ARSJVU/qid%3D1123693849/sr%3D1-32/ref%3Dsr%5F1%5F0%5F32/702-3768305-9176006) ** still 139.99$ US on (now 169.99$)link amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000AQ68RI/qid%3D1123627006/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/104-9300971-2882327)

I think $150 is also a pricing error as that is just too good to be true. Season 1 sometimes goes on sale for $20 but I have never seen Seasons 2-7 for less than $40 each new.
I think the 'correct' price for this set is likely about $225 to $250, but Buffy fans should order this and give it a try. Super hot if you get it. I have Seasons 1 to 5 and 6 and 7 are supposedly not that great so I think I'll pass.

Best Buy used to have all the seasons for $195 quite a few months ago. I don't think $150 is all that unbelievable.

Wow, didn't know that set got that cheap. Well, a boon for Buffy fans.

6 is really dark, 7 wasn't that great because Whedon was doing 3 shows at once. Both kick the crap out of 4, though.

the season with a lot of sex wasnt very appropriate though. Showing spike and buffy humping in every episode was pretty tasteless on YTV. (actual grinding motions, not just a camera panning away and coming back when they were done)

Checking on DVDSoon, the seasons are around $66 each. In addition this item is on "preorder" and imported... I'm doubting it'll go on sale.

well Amazon.com has it for 139.99$ link (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000AQ68RI/qid%3D1123627006/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/104-9300971-2882327)
and Amazon had it at 229$ - 36% = 149$ but the second link was at 28$ for the whole collection .. when they noticed they put both OOS ;) I am still hoping I slip through the cracks and get this  although they do have plenty of time to cancel it (nov 15th preorder)

This looks like the new SE thats coming out with all 7 seasons and the bonus disc of special features... I had heard it was going to be at 200$...
As for seasons 6 and 7, though they may not be the best seasons as a whole compared to some of the earlier stuff, some of the series best episodes are in season 6, and they're still better than 99% of the rest of the stuff they air these days...

yes I put it to compare to the full price of the canadian price 199$us - 229$ cdn .. the us dollar is pretty low right now ;) but the cdn sale price is still better..

It is the special collector's box of the complete series, which is coming out in November, still a long wait. I caught their price mistake yesterday when they had it at $28, so I'll have to wait till November to find out if they honor it.
Another thing that's worrying me is that Amazon.ca has 2 versions of this set, they seem to be the same but that might not be true. I had ordered a dvd previously that had 2 seemingly identical versions with identical pictures, the one I got (in regular dvd case) did not have the same packaging as the normal version (a nice looking digi-pack), that was upsetting.

I can verify that you do not have to pay any customs or taxes when ordering from .com and ship to Canada. There was another thread on RFD about that and although I was skeptical I tried it. Since then I've ordered 5 DVD box sets from .com and some books and I've never had to pay anything extra. They might even ship from the Canadian warehouse.
Here's the thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167311) which should put your mind at ease.

Thanks for the information, and the link. I've placed my order on Amazon.com; if it does come back in stock on the Amazon.ca site at $149 I'll just switch my order to there :)
EDIT: Interesting info on the TvShowsOnDVD website:
This will set you back a suggested price of $199.98 ($349.98 CAN).

That is some crazy exchange rate they used! They probably meant $249.98. Regardless, the Amazon prices look good.

Used my amazon.ca ID and password to login to the amazon.com site. It had all my mailing info and everything. Ordered the entire Buffy series. Total came to 145.97USD including shipping. Awesome price! This is my first time ordering through the .com site. Will see how it goes...

$244.99 CDN makes a little more sense......
I guess the .ca web dweebs are a little slow adding the pre-order option....

How does that work (A9)? I can't see any mention of discounts on their website...?
Thanks.

Thanks.
1. Get an Amazon.com account
2. Goto A9.com and sign in using your Amazon id/password
3. Start using A9 for all your web searches (i installed the toolbar, its pretty good)
4. Wait 3-4 days
5. Sign into Amazon.com. Next to the Amazon logo on the left you will see the A9 logo and Pi/2. This will tell you that you now have the discount
6. Place your order. You will automatically get the 1.57% discount on your order
7. Continue to use A9 on a regular basis and you will maintain the discount on all future orders from Amazon.com
Notes:
discount only good for Amazon.com

I ordered this on the .com site (back in August?), and received my shipping notice last week. It just arrived today! It looks great, quite compact with a note from Joss, and some special features. Can't wait to watch it!
It looks great, quite compact in a box which flaps open. Each season is in a mini-book format of disks, and there's even a note from Joss and some special features.
It also has a booklet in there listing all the discs and episodes, with photos of the cast on opossing pages.
