NASA officials are stressing on each and every news piece that 'astronouts' are now taking this day to relax and enjoy the view(sounds like a canned PR lie to me).
Anybody is thinking the same?
me!

yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I really believe they've been hijacked by an alien ship orbiting earth and are really not up their in space anymore. Nasa is awaiting word from the mothership for instructions on what to do. I have a secret source in Nasa, and he tells me! that the alien ship has sent a message saying they want Earth women, because they heard that they were easy.
runamuck

Wait a sec. Are people gonna be disappointed if it doesn't blow up tomorrow? It amazes me how a lot of people ARE actually expecting disaster and almost hoping that something will happen. That's pretty sad

They said quite clearly that it was a weather delay... they were expecting to come home today, so really they're 'packed up and ready to go'. What else do you expect them to do but sit around and play cards?

Put me down for a vote of disaster. They are hyping it way too much already so if nothing happens I will be disappointed.

I am a bit skeptical about the weather reasoning actually since there are multiple locations this thing can land.
I was more of curious whether if there was a mechanical problem etc with the ship due to its age and bad luck lately.
Also although I don't agree with this whole space program goals (this will lead to a star wars budget, we will see) I wish their safe return since there are 2 non-americans on the board :)

They are certainly leery and paranoid about it. Should another mishap happen, that could very well shutdown the program for a long long time, if not for good. They probably found something that may lead to another thing that can cause yet another thing that cause a flooded toilet inside, MAYBE. So they are doing all the pre-cautionary work to make sure it's gonna come back flawlessly, and I sure hope they will

Landing at Cape would be the ideal situation. Any other location would require a carrier to bring the shuttle back ( ---> $$$$$$$$$$$$ ).

7:56 a.m. - Traveling 17 times the speed of sound, Discovery is within 1,000 miles of the runway at Edwards Air Force Base.

That's a cool picture. I couldn't visualize how they'd get a shuttle on the back of a plane..
