Does anyone have any reviews, opinions on this place? It's the restaurant on the 2nd level of Pacific Mall. Thinking of going there to celebrate a bday and want to know if it's good and worth the price. They have some set dinner specials my parents are interested in.
Thanks!

it's one of the nicer restaurants in markham for sure in terms of decor and sheer size. food is mediocore and price is higher than typical markham/scarlem fare.

I don't like Golden Regency (Pacific Mall). I don't recommend it.
Since the restaurant is big, it gets VERY noisy (especially on weekends). You can hardly have a conversation.
The furniture looks worn out.
The prices are a bit high.
I would recommend going to City Inn Restaurant in the shopping mall next door, Market Village. City Inn is a pretty Chinese restaurant with nice decor and nice furniture. The food is pretty good, especially the dim sum. The dinner menu has VARIETY- you'll see items that you usually don't see in other Chinese restaurants. The staff are friendly and speak good English. The food is presented very nicely. You'll have a good time at City Inn. The prices are a bit high.

I like the dimsum place outside of Marketvillage, right at the end facing Kennedy. The name is called "Pay raise" when you interpret that into Cantonese. Its $1.60 all day. Cant go wrong

You mean the restaurant with LONG 30 minute line-ups for dim sum?
Forget it. Food is average. Line-ups are too long.
City Inn has no line-ups. More civilized and genteel.

yup..the prices are a bit higher..but that's what you pay since it is nicer than alot of other places..you can try Red Ruby, that place is big and is comparable.

i don't think golden regency is worth it at all.. been there enough times and everytime get bad service (usually lack of it), and cold and bad quality food for such high price!
i think red ruby is same too.. food quality is crappy!
and Ginger Onion ("Pay Raise") might be cheap, but i agree with long lineups and food is loaded with msg!

Dragon Dynasty at Chartwell is the most authentic dimsum, I think...
