I saw on article in the Toronto Star about him but I also read a magazine article about him a few years back.

He was selected as one of the top "innovators" in Time magazine.

i guess you missed the 'decoding ferran adria' show on food network a few months back---tony bourdain did a one hour special on this guy. it was pretty interesting--very high concept food--mousses, experimental food, etc.
seemed interesting--what was really fascinating was how adria's favourite restaurant is actually an old school seafood restaurant that cooks almost the opposite in terms of technique and preparation.

Interesting...
I don't follow chefs at all. I just cook stuff and invent my own cool recipies (some wich have been published!)
But, wow almost $500 for a cookbook that is alot. But i guess u r getting the recipies from his restaurant.
How much is a meal in his kitchen?

Yeah, I watched that one too. Quite an eye-opener. The mousses, sniff of rosemary instead of using it in a dish, etc etc. I guess if you are that good, you have the right to charge 490 for your cook book. Ouch!

Talking about expensive cooking books that might end up on bit torrent...
has anyone come across the larousse cooking encyclopedia, cd-rom version? it's apparently really good but I'd like to see what it contains before spending the big $$$.
