heya i have bell sympatico High Speed edition in canada and on my desktop computer, its bandwidth is around 250kbps dl, i think thats like 30KBps [or watever the symbols are to kilobit/byte] which is seriously not what its supposed to be.

now when i connect the internet directly to my laptop im getting an average download speed of 1360kbps [170KBps]

does anyone know what would be the reason of these differences?
maybe i have something, like a trojan or watever they're called that would be slowing down my comp.

is there any programs i can use to see if i do have any problem like this??

is there a way to like reset my internet connection or watever?

thanks a bunch.
if theres any info needed from me to help me, lol, tell me, thanks!

Just curious... how are you measuring your download speeds?

Hey I also have Bell Sympatico High Speed and i have almost the same problem.

Well before I formatted my computer my spees were very fast! Then suddenly they started getting slower,

I'm going to call Bell and ask why my speed is so slow

Have you tried running the 'Tweak Test' on broadbandreports.com?

well about two/three weeks ago, it was slow for both computers, so i called them and they said there was a problem on their side, and said it will be fixed soon.

i guess its alright now, im getting good speeds on my laptop, but not on my other desktop computer, so its probably my computer.

EDIT [about the tweaking]: yeh but it never seems to make a difference

I have had tweaking make HUGE differences. I tweaked a Pentium 233 and it spanked my 550 laptop. Then I tweaked my laptop and it flew as well. I adjusted my MTUs and RWin.
