ok here, we already have our first vote for "I dont brush" hahaah. I'll give you guys a hot tip here. You dont need mouthwash - Ive personally never used it and cant stand the taste. Instead brush your tongue every time, and it will get rid of the bad breathe/odor, as that is where it originates.

Brushing your teeth that often is actually bad for your teeth, they should not be brushed more than 3 times a day. I do it twice, not gonna bring a toothbrush to work and when I get off work brushing my teeth isn't exactly the first thing on my mind.

you shouldn't use listerine cuz the alcohol in the listerine will make your gums receed. You should use oral b non-alcohol for mouth wash.

No its not lol. I use crest whitestrips also 2x a day, and overnight gels as well. I need to keep my teeth at white as they can be. I use Sonicare products mostly - electric is the way to go! cant wait till they come out with electric dental floss.

How many times a day should I brush my teeth?
Brush your teeth twice daily for at least two minutes each time. Your teeth are prone to bacteria build-up while you sleep because saliva flow is reduced. Brushing immediately before bed and when you wake up will help eliminate plaque build-up and will remove food particles from your teeth. You should avoid brushing your teeth more than three times a day because over-brushing may cause your gums to recede over time
BTW, electric flossers have been out for a very long time.

Brushing should not be done less than twice per day, and not more than...twice per day. What's with the 5x per day + whitestrips + gels???? That's straight up nutty.
I brush twice per day, but don't floss often enough....I have big fingers and tight teeth, and it's a pain in the ass. I use mouthwash, even though I don't really believe the "it's just as good as flossing" line. But I'll take it :)

Only twice a day. On rare occasions, 3 times if I have a nice dinner party or going out to bar/club with friends. Then I brush before going out. :D

The poll shouldn't allow multiple choices. Results may be skewed.

I want to use mouth wash and I've tried listerine, but it burns my tongue really bad and I can't stand the taste. Anything else more milder?

Nasal drippings at the back of the throat as well as any remaining food particles or bolus lodged at the back of the throat makes for ideal conditions for bad breath odour causing bacteria to flourish.

Pretty soon you'll be using sensodyne for overly sensitive teeth if you continue overbrushing.
Twice per day is enough and once you stay off the sweets(which feeds the bacteria) and eat healthy snacks during the day you should be okay.

Citrus Burst Listerine is much more mild than the regular listerine. There is also alcohol free mouth wash out there. I tried that Oral-B stuff mentioned earlier in the thread, didn't really like the taste of it at all. I tried some sea salt one and it was horrible. There's another one that starts with a B and I think it's kinda close to like a bacteria sounding name although I could be wrong, that was a great mouth wash. Only reason I switched back to alcohol based mouth wash (Listerine Cool Mint, nice, but a bit more intense than the Citrus one but nothing close to the original) is because I'd rather pay $5 for a bigger bottle of mouth wash rather than $12 for a smaller one.
EDIT: Just did a quick Google search, and it's called Biotene and is available at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I brush three times a day: in the morning after breakfast, after dinner, and before bed. In the morning, I brush in the shower. While the shampoo or conditioner is in my hair for a couple of minutes, I take the time to brush my teeth.
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I have a related question. After you brush your teeth, do you rinse your mouth out with water? Or do you just spit?
