there are probably alot of people that have experience buying and trading on the bst here. I just want to know how can we make a deal with minimal risk.

Please correct me if i m wrong
If we are shipping the items, what kind of payment options are avaible?

From what i know, paypal protects the buyer cause they can always do a chargeback if they used a CC and the buyer will be screwed.

Nobody mails cash...

I've never used paybid or western union so i dont know how that works.
Should the buyer ship the item only when they receive the money or ship at the same time as the seller is sending the money? How can we do a deal that protects the buyer and the seller?

Ship only after payment is received.

Electronic payment is faster and more convenient - Paypal, Email money transfer.

Checks and money orders should also be accepted, but it delays the transaction.

Ugh. paypalsucks.com will quickly change your mind about paypal. It's absolutely *not* safe. I've had some good experiences with Hyperwallet (Canadian company that's co-owned by a few Canadian banks).

I mail cash to the US all the time. All I do is get a couple pieces of paper, fold em up, put the cash in, and away it goes. I've never had a letter without cash get lost, so why should I worry about a letter *with* cash? (this is for purchases under $30 USD).

No experience with paybid. Western Union is as secure as Paypal - once you send the cash, it's gone. Same with money order. For the most part, same with electronic mail transfer (with your bank). Cheques are okay, but if you're selling, you have to make sure to wait until your bank says that the cheque is cleared before you ship out.

But for the love of God, paypal is as secure as sending cash in the mail, except for the fact that if the mail system screws you over, all that's gone is some cash, but if Paypal seizes your account, you could be out hundreds of dollars - or more if you're a seller.

I insist on paying by Money Order whenever I buy anything because I get the seller's name and address and I also get a copy of the money order.
