I want some general car repairs done on my old crown vic. it needs an oil change for sure, and perhaps a transmission fluid flush and radiator flush as well. where is the best place to take a car for this sort of thing?

If the car is old (we're talking 5yrs+) and you're not keen on doing repairs on your own, then it's about time to introduce yourself to your local garage. He'll not be cheaper than a hot drop oil spot like CTC or Mr. Lube but he will be on your side when it comes to future work. Local garages stay in business with repeat customers that they try to treat well. look for a business close to you with a door rate in the 65$ to 70$ range and not a lot of kids employed and who look you right in the eye and talk straight.

Although I have my share of issues with independant garages, I'd consider these before dealers. Costco or Walmart are great for synthetic oil changes, tire stuff but there's no lic. mechanic on staff who could spot trouble brewing, and it sounds like you need more than just an oil change. I regard CTC as bottom of the rung, too bad Canadian co., but they earned the position.
