I went into GoodLife today finally, well I got the student discount offer:
initiation fee: $299 (I think, or $399)
bi-weekly: $14-$2(student discount) = $12 x 2 = $24/month
Annual Fee: $39 ; Card Fee: $19
and there's something about free for the summer till September....
I haven't really negotiate on anything, because I don't know if you can or not on these services, but on some of the threads I've read, I've seen someone actually got good deals either initation fee waived or something along that line... I was wondering if someone can provide details!?

if you know someone that is a member already at goodlife you can try to get under their account and then you only need to pay the 12 dollars bi weekly (you save the initiation fee). it's actually 28 dollars a month because of the extra days.

actually, if u don't pay the initiation fee, its gonna be $24 bi weekly for students and $48/month....unless you're joining for short period of time, otherwise its betta to pay that fee....anyone know if we need to sign contract with GoodLife?
Also anyone know about the referral discount? I have 2 more people that is considering on joining, so I want to know how does the discount works...

unless you join just for the summer most if not all gyms will make you sign a one year contract with them. there is not really a referal deal that i am aware of. if you have a group of people joining together the can go under the same account and just pay less but one person still needs to pay the initiation fee. but it's still best if you know a member there already and just join under them. it's definately the cheapest way to go.

Does this apply to any GoodLife Fitness Centre?

so lets say 2 people join, then will we be splitting the $300 iniation fee? Both under the same account

Wow, that's a huge initiation fee, I never realized that gyms tend to charge so much. I pay $27/month at Goodlife but that's on a corporate plan and I didn't have to pay initiation. If I had to pay $300 for initiation I would take the money and invest in some cheap free weights, ride my bike for cardio, and wait until December when they tend to waive the initiation fee as a promo.

They used to have discount if you join under an existing member last summer. e.g. 25% off initiation fee and $10.50 bi-weekly for 2nd person ; $25 initiation fee and $12 bi-weekly for any person after the 2nd. When I renew this year, they told us that this special only applied to family member within the same household this year.

Nope, my friend referred 4 persons to Goodlife, she didn't get any referral fees. They just deferred her payment for 2 months.

I tried to hop onto a friends membership the other day... he works for a company that goodlife offers a discount of 50% to. They denied me to partner alongside his deal. Stating it was for "Spouses or Partners".
Defined it as husband/wife/same sex partner.
BAH!
