Certainly is! At least when a&b or visions has a sale there are at least a few limited quantity items that are decent deals though.

Colour me excited. The least they could have done would have been to inflate the pre-sale price to $479 or more and make it a $100 off deal. $20? It cost me about that in my time to read the posts and type this. Pfffft.

lol well either way you know they are not trying hard enough.. i just went to the staples site and darn it's $499.99. I bet if i asked them how it got to 499.99, they'd just say "oh we had to price match with staples" since the big companies only accept price beats from BIG stores with a license. It just goes to show you how desperate they are into trying to get rid of things that are the same price as their BIG STORE competiters with nifty words like HOT DEALS AT FUTURESHOP I WANT IT MORE. FUTURE SHOP COME SEE WHAT YOUR FUTURE HAS IN STORE. *ahem* neways i'll wait for hte bump now XD

For those that are interested...I think it is a better deal than this...in 2 weeks COSTCO has the Samsung 713n 17 in LCD on for 389.99 - $80.00 =$309.

Still think that I shuda picked up an Acer 17" that Compusmart had for $250 during their Customer Appreciation!!!

maybe someone can actually try to PM staples online...

it would be like $334.99 - $30 off coupon.. = 305...if it works...which i doubt

Here in Calgary you can get the SyncMaster 710n II for $339.95 at Memory Express. I believe it's essentially the same monitor.

There is also a PM opportunity on the BenQ T705 17" between Memory Express and Staples. I think you can get it for like $250 if you can find stock. With a coupon you might be able to get it down to $230.

Well with price from them, you'd expect a catch. Doesn't Canada Computer's have a policy where they only accept the exchange/refund if they are more then 7 dead pixels on it as well as a few others including the 7 day period. *cough* restocking fee *cough* I'm not saying they are a bad store, heck i went there to get parts for my new comp but as for a LCD monitor I'm really not sure if I should buy it from them. I'll just wait until FS or BB takes 100 bones off a 19". Until then I'll stick with my old CRT. Just to clarify, does FS and BB have that kind of policy or if within the 30 days if they experience even 1 or 2 dead pixels they can refund / exchange? Someone clarify for me please, it's my first time buying an LCD and I have yet to decide what to do.

The "7 dead pixel" policy is with the manufaturer and not the store. I've had two LCD monitor with dead pixel (BenQ and an HP) and both companies refused to issue me an RMA on the bases that I needed to have 6 or more dead pixels.

The only difference between buying something from CC or FS is that FS has a better exchange policy with no restocking fee. Other then that, the item is the same and the warranty is the same (for retail box - not OEM). With that said, at least CC has OEM items which will run you about 30% less off the top. And, in my experience, OEM is just as good and reliable as retail (who needs the fancy box anyway).

Just my two cents.

On the issue of FS's 14 days of deals - they've sucked so much that I'm not even going to bother checking for the rest of the "deals". I really hope FS head office is reading these threads.

Their exchange policy is almost as good as a dead pixel guarantee.. ie. if there's a dead pixel, take it in and exchange for a non-defective one.. at the very least (if they won't let you exchange for some reason), return it.
