I'm in the market for a new Video Camera - any current deals on Mini DVs? I'm also considering a DVD unit - any downside to these? Can I still dump the video to my MAC and author with Final Cut, iMovie or iDVD? Any models that are recommended for the DVD cameras?
I'm happy with my Mini DV and this actually for someone else (parents) who are technologically behind - I thought the DVD camera might be the best for them since they can pop the disc out and play. The authoring part is for me - in case they fluke out and grab some good footage that I want.
