I noticed in the paper from a few days ago that Henrys has the Panasonic PV-GS65 on sale for $749.99 while it's $849.99 at Futureshop. I got mine for 800 and thought that I got a pretty good deal. It's a great 3CCD camcorder.

Other deals:
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ4 - $499.99
Olympus C5500 - $299.99
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 - $449.99

I'm not sure if it's Ottawa only.

Good deal. It's probably chain-wide. Henry's stores aren't franchises, so they can't individually have sales.

This is a great deal, considering the super 3CCD offered exclusively by Panasonic in consumer electronics. This is much better than Canon Elura series in the same price range. I personally have a gs250, it's amazing. The only downside maybe the battery life, which is common for MiniDvs.

That's cheap. THe only place that I know which carries GS250 is Audiotronics, 1298.88 plus tax.

I have the GS65 and i love it.. i notice it does have some low light issues but its pretty steady compared to my mothers Sony HI-8

Paid $849 at FS but bought a digital camera at the same time so i worked a sweet deal and got an extra battery, case, 512 memory card, and 4 year warrenty for nothing. :cheesygri

I have the big brother GS250, it has nearly all of the same features. The optical image stabilization on the GS250 is really a noticeable upgrade from the GS65. It's a good consumer level camcorder in this price range. however, the build quality feels cheap, it's all thin, delicate plastic. Colors are accurate, bright and vibrant. The video quality is ok but not sharp even in bright sunlight. It produces only interlaced video which looks ok on a TV but extremely jagged on a computer monitor. If you try to convert interlace to progressive afterwards or you will blur your picture, as the information of two fields are mixed to one frame.

wow you are the first owner of GS250 which did not talked about how great their GS250 is. Also i never heard about video being not very sharp.

what else is on the market which is comparable to gs250?

The GS65 is on sale for $679.99 at Aden Camera, and the GS250 is $1249.99 there, too.

:) first post, hey guys!

Bought mine from FS yesterday and they matched the Aden Camera price of $679.99 + tax. They didn't go for the 110% difference thing as I did not purchase from them at that point (would of saved approx. $17). Thanks juju5522 and thanks RFD!

I actually bought this to replace a Canon ZR100...the PV-GS65 is miles ahead at first glance...I will try to write a review asap.

$769 at FS.

or would it be better to get the PV-GS150 for $899 at LD?

Answered my own question, the PV-GS150 is the better deal.
