Let me clear something up. ATI's warranty will surpass any other brand and no receipt is needed. You will still find today that some 9700 Pros are still covered by warranty which is more than 3 yrs since they were bought. ATI cards have a lifespan and once the product is up warranty is stopped on those particular cards.

Can not tell you if it is loud or not as I said the card is new and if I state it is new I have not tested it and will not lie about that. Once it is bought and paid for I will ask if they want it tested. But if it is anything like my 6800 Ultra I had in past then it would be considered loud on start up but once it enters windows it becomes quiet.

Under load fan speed was increased, but again this was for a EVGA 6800 Limited edition 256DDR3 flashed to Ultra at 460/1240.Should it be loud you can always add a silencer. check reviews I am sure it mentiones something.


As far as the GTO2, mine is one of the better ones with strong core. It runs 540/590 all day long with AS5 and the stock sink with temps great at idle and load. I have not bothered going for more cause honestly it is not needed and I am leaving the stock sink as is. Not all GTO2 cards will be same, some have had weak cores that did not overclock much at all so realize there is a possibility that you can get one if you can find stock that may not even run X850XT speeds let alone PE speeds. But success rate fom reports on the net is 100% to unlock the 16 pipes. The GTO2 clock speeds at stock are 400/490 so you can see it is the core that will need to be raised quite a bit to hit XT and XT PE speeds. Personally I think most will hit XT for sure . but you just need to be prepared to take gamble, either way you still will get 16 pipes which is better than 12 at the same clock speeds.

Between the GTO2 card and the X800 Pro VIVO pci-e it would be a toss up, I may lean to the X800 Pro as long as you know you are getting a VIVO version with 1.6ns DDR3 being the best and if it has 2.0ns DDR3 you will still get X800XT bios flash for sure and X800XT clocks. Also you could choose based on cost with the ATI refurb deal, I scored large with my X800 Pro AGP VIVO thjat had 1.6ns and it flashed to X800XT PE and ran 545/585 solid and I did not test for more

Lets move the 7800GT, this card is about 15-20% faster than a 850XT PE plus it offers shader 3.0 and HDR support

I have the same cpu week and stepping does 2.65 at stock volts amd 2.9 at 1.475 on air with a xp120. Usually run it at 2.75 or 2.8 the motherboard and psu makes a big difference with dual core overclocking. I was stuck at 2.6 with stock volts on my dfi nf4 ultra-d since it only had 3 pashe power. The got the expert and 2.8 was so easy.

this one did run 2.8 at lower than 1.47 I just did not bother testing it for a long time cause who really cares ? Ods are they will never own the chip long enough to worry about vcore and 1.47 is nothing on these, yeah I am glad to see it gone for a good buck but paypal took 13US and shipping was 53 ca so I got back 297 actually more than what I paid with tax so no issues there!

I believe Fatman is correct. The Nexus fans are Yate Loon fans and the only difference was that the Nexus has an inline resistor and spins at 1000rpm (vs 1350rpm if I recall).

I've installed a Sapphire before on a friends computer and it flashed flawlessly while giving a nice boost in performance.

I was thinking of actually getting the monitor you have for sale from NCIX, but things came up and money needs to be spent elsewhere.

Yup X1800XT at this time is the best card for performance/cost faster than a 79000GT and 7800GTX, overclocks well and can run HDR & AA unlike 7900GT

256DDR versions require bios edit prior top flashing due to different timings. Card can run PE speeds though

In haste to complete an AM2 build I made a mistake buying a new/unused Arctic Freezer 64 Pro cooler off a solid RFD seller. The cooler is excellent however on Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe if used it forces direction of cooler to blow down across chip to graphics card or up towards psu. This for me is not ideal. My loss your gain, I opened box tonight installed it never turned pc on or started format, aint gonna cut it for this build gonna do Zalman CNPS9500. Again this unit has not run at all.

1)Arctic Freezer 64 Pro box and all as new- $20 GVRD
Works perfect for S939 or anything else, can work with AM2 but not my choice.

2) AMD A64 AM2 Sempron 2800+ retail box sealed cpu with fan
Stock 1.6ghz
Great little chip capable of 2.4-2.8 ghz
$43 GVRD>> $40 FIRM
If no one wants it is going back for a credit

Buy both take em for $55 WOW great deal!

If I was you, CK, I would keep it since blowing hot air into the PSU is a good (I would say best) way to cool the computer. Since hot air will be sucked directly into the PSU, it won't have a chance to heat up your computer thus reduce the ambient temp of it.
Infact if it was me to choose between a HSF that blows hot air into the PSU and the other that doesn't, I would choose the first one.
For the PSU, naturally it can handle high temp much better than other components since nothing really high-tech in it and all the parts inside a PSU are the ones manufactured to work in high temp environment.
Beside the main job to provide DC curents, the second job of a PSU is extracting hot air from the inside so it would be a correct setting to blow hot air into PSU intakes.
My 2 cents.
