I bought a Samsung 27inch flat screen for my parents exactly 11 days ago for $365 (reg. $399), only had to pay $200 cash on the spot because we used a free $160 credit. But Ive been contemplating if its worth the trip back to the store, and all the trouble packing up the heavy TV and lug it back to get either the JVC iart or the toshiba for yes $15 less meaning we would get $15 back.
Now the first tv Visions has right now on sale for $350, reg $430

And this one is same price, not sure on the reg. price.

So which would you go for when it comes to tvs? JVC, Toshiba or samsung? The samsung we have now works great, weve never owned a Samsung tv before since they just recently started making them, we wanted an iart but it was $70 more at the time, but the picture could be a bit sharper on the samsung. Nothing horrible, but definitely not as sharp as my curved JVC from last year. But my dad hates lugging stuff back to the store, especially if its something huge like a TV. But if the picture quality and everything (lifespan) isalot better on the other two, then I might bite. How are Samsung tvs? Should they last as long as any other brand tv no problem? But trust me, it is alot of work moving it into the house, alot harder than most people would think, especially since we have ours in the cabinet.
The model I have now is the TX-R2735, pic below

I don't there will be enough difference to warrant the return.
A friend bought a Toshiba Tau and regretted not buying a Sony Wega, so I would assume that Toshiba's are no better than the other brands. I've never been a fan of the JVC TV's, the wierd curve of the screen annoys me with its odd light reflections. Also the TV you have fits perfectly in the cabinet, I would leave good enough along.
Should have sprung for a Wega.
And in a year or 2 you'll be buying an HDTV, so no worries.

Panasonic makes the Tau. My friend has the 27" Toshiba flat screen CRT and I have the 27" JVC I'Art. I find both of them to be comparable in terms of picture quality. I did notice that the picture on the Samsung 27" was a bit softer. Basically it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it to exchange or not. I would rather have the I'Art than the Samsung but if I had already bought the Samsung, I would probably just keep that.

I don't think saving $15 is worth the hassle. Samsung is a good brand. They've been making monitors for years now. I haven't had any experience with JVC but I doubt they are any better. Plus, if the picture seems a bit blurry, try turning down the brightness. Sometimes that help. Have you actually seen the other 2 models and compared it against the one you have? If not, I'd suck it up and stick with Samsung. I hate returning big bulky items too.

ok i called visions, the guy said i would get the jvc iart for $331. so i would get $35 back hmm. He said they all look the same for pic quality. Samsung is as good as JVC iart, minus the series product name.

I did see the other models in store when buying but its not the same since theres so much stuff around you, and they were on different shelfs so I wasnt able to view them dead on.
I did calibrate everything to get the best pic quality. I googled it up and yes surprisingly brightness should be turned way down, contrast high up and believe it or not sharpness low lol, but i cant justify that one.
The pic is still good, but like the other poster mentioned, yes its a bit softer than the JVCs or toshibas. Maybe we just have to get used to it who knows. And yes this tv fits in just perfectly in that cabinet, it is not fun lugging these 80lb tvs around lol.

If you do decide it's worth the bother to exchange for the JVC, check the specs online first to make sure it'll fit in the entertainment unit. IIRC it's something like 35 or 36 inches wide.
Edit: My set is 32.75 inches wide. And the JVC model(s) in question is flat-screen, not curved!

for over $50, it's worth the hassle....leanient on $35. i mean you have to put it into the freaking box, carry it back to visions and do the exchange: estimated time for project = 1-2 hrs.
Samsung makes great monitors, so does JVC. go back to vision and watch the picture quality on both of the monitors (if they don't have, then just go watch it at FS or BB or the Brick).
Btw, I see a ghostly figure in the picture tube. your house might be haunted...

good points, ya $35 hmmm. Its a pain even just gettingthe monster out of the cabinet, let alone in the box, up on the back of the truck and into the store. Then you have to repeat the same thing with the new TV lol. I dont know if ill make a special trip just to watch the tvs, but i was just comparing the new sammy to my 1yr old curved jvc tv 27inch and the JVC is sharper, the image isnt as soft.

Just leave it as it is, I think samsung makes good products. It's only $15 and time= money, the time you spent packing this thing up, driving it to visions, waiting in the refund line, picking up your new TV and finally installing it will probably be 2+ hours. In 2 hours you could have made $20 cutting grass for your neighbors. :-0 Dont forget about the gas and the wear & tear on your car.
