My whole house smells like skunk...

I think a skunk got in a fight with a racoon, in my back yard. Now my whole house stinks!!! Damn I hope it goes away, 'cus it's even hard to sleep right now with the stinky smell.

GF's parents dog was sprayed as he got into a fight with one (killed it) but it stunk up the house up north then when her mom came to visit us in clean clothes it even stunk up our apartment for weeks.

Our clothes, towels etc everything we just could not get rid of the smell.

We just had to wait it out and this was just because the smell travelled with her mom to our place because the dog up north was sprayed lol

Similar thing happened to my dog. You'll get used to the smell in a day, eventually it'll go away...

Yeah I meant faint smell of skunk.. Never really smelled it at ground zero...but the smell does travel pretty far through the air.

Skunk Smell CURE!!!

The baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, detergent mixture was developed by a chemist working for a pulp and paper plant in British Columbia, Canada. He reasoned that the active ingredients in skunk smell are in the same family (thyols) so he could us similar chemicals to what he was using in the pulp and paper plant.

Instead of caustic soda, use baking soda, instead of 30% hydrogen peroxide, use 3%. We still want a dog (and hands) after the wash.

- 1 litre of three per cent hydrogen peroxide
- quarter cup sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda
- dash of dishwasher detergent

That should do it.

My husky got sprayed one time, actually a few times, poor bugger never learns. Anyways, yeah your whole yard/street will stink for a few hours, but then it goes away. Can't say the same for animal that gets sprayed, so we had to dunk tomato juice all over him, (he's got white fur) and afterwards he was all pink, it was quite hilarious.

have you seen the one episode of jackass where the guy trapped a skunk, and he went to try to pick it up and it sprayed him like 8-9 times.. and started puking cuz of the smell. lol.

skunk smell is very recognizable. there is vegetation called skunk cabbage that emits a scent very similar to skunk spray, hence its name.

you'll know a skunk sprayed right away. it's not hard to miss.
