Wow what's he taking when he went on the show? (I meant the original footage, not the gay lightning effect one).

oprah sure is in the news lately

http://thebosh.com/archives/2005/06/oprah_refused_e.php

oprah dissed at paris boutique...quel domage

Clerks at the Paris Hermes store must be kicking themselves. Page Six reports that employees of the pricey boutique in France refused to let mega-mogul Oprah Winfrey inside because they did not recognize her at the time. A spy who witnessed Oprah's dismissal said, "Oprah didn't have her hair done. When she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been 'having a problem with North Africans' lately' and obviously had no clue who she was." Because of the slight, Hermes should not expect their infamous Kelly bag to be featured as one of Oprah's "favorite things" in her yearly Christmas episode

I wish he really did kill her. She is overly annoying and egotistical.
Tom Cruise is a nut bar, but what do you expect from a scientologist?

Scientology is for real to a lot of people. No bashing please, at least out of respect to other religions. Otherwise I can bash Catholics and Muslims and Jews etc. :arrowl: :arrowl:

Go ahead and bash away. I find all religion/psychology to be crap.
Scientology is especially silly though since its founder, a science fiction writer, is on record as saying the only way you can get rich is by starting your own religion. Also the scriptures claiming aliens planted hydrogen bombs on the earth and only the chosen will be saved strikes me as humorous, and anyone taking it seriously is definately a nut bar.

please

they aren't cults and don't expect thousands->millions of dollars to raise a level

When someone posts on the forum that they need help to decide on whether to join Primerica/Quixtar/etc.., we give advice. Scientology is lumped in the same ****, a $ drain, and a destructive force(they force you away from family & friends).

uh huh. sure. whatever. that is your opinion but you are bashing an established religion. if you can't respect it - don't expect people to respect your views or faith.

The Church of Scientology was established in 1954. Today its more than 3,000 churches, missions, related organizations, groups and activities span the globe and minister the religion to more than 8 million people in 100 countries in over 30 languages.

The inner secrets of scientology:
http://www.xenu.net/

It was started in the 1950s by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard in fulfilment to his declared aim to start a religion to make money. It is an offshoot to a method of psychotherapy he concocted from various sources which he named "Dianetics". Dianetics is a form of regression therapy. It was then further expanded to appear more like a religion in order to enjoy tax benefits. He called it "Scientology".

what religion does not have critics?

My point is you need to show respect if you expect to get any.

And not just about religion but about where you live or who you are (unless you are a troll).

is respect so hard?

Respect has to be earned.

And what does where you live have to do with being a troll?

Yeah sure they did not let her in cause she was "North American". ;)

Must have been something ELSE about her that got her refused entry. :?:

hmmmm. :?:

I wonder what it was? ;)

Respect has to be earned.

And what does where you live have to do with being a troll?

so you treat people without respect when you meet them first? they have to "earn" your respect?

I prefer to treat people fairly and with respect first; but I have a lot of friends so maybe there is a link.

And where you live is nothing to do with being a troll...i meant you need to show respect to people regardless where they are from...unless thay are here to troll...2 different concepts was what I tried to articulate.

Could it have been the fact that she went there after the store was closed?
Could it have been the fact that they were having a private function at the store after hours and she wasn't on the list?
Could it have been the fact that she thinks the rules don't apply to her because she is a celebrity in North America?

Those are possiblities though NONE of them were mentioned in the news column in the link provided. ;)

Lets see....
Respect: a : high or special regard : ESTEEM b : the quality or state of being esteemed

No, I don't hold people in esteem or high regard without knowing anything about them. They have to earn my respect.

That has nothing to do with being treated fairly though. I try to treat people fairly, though my perception of "fair" is probably different than yours. If a person is or does something stupid, isn't it "fair" to treat them as such?

It's as much a religion as the Moonies.

Anyway, this is the bash Tom Cruise thread.

As for mentioning other religions, either defend Scientology directly, or you're offtopic. If you want a religion debate make a thread for it. Attacking another cult/religion, doesn't make Scientology less of a cult.
