Photoshop's temp folder is called a Scratch Disk.

In CS2, go to Edit ---->Preferences---->Plugins and Scratch Disks

The "scratch disk" is basically a partition on your hard drive that is used by Photoshop. Don't store any other files in the partition. You are only able to select a drive letter (C:, D:, etc), not individual folders.

You can also have up to 4 scratch disks for those super huge files!!
