What is the largest size/cheapest DVD media on the market rightnow?
I got lots of home videos, that I'd like to backup. (many videos are over 10gb in size)
whats a good media to use for backing them up? I got a LG-GSA-4163 burner
thanks for any input

the largest size i believe is 9.4 gigs for double sided dvd-ram disks (unsure on the cost), however it will be highly unlikely that it will play in any of your standalone dvd players. Then we have the 8.5 gig dual layer dvds (still rather expensive, most are still over 5 bucks each) the cheapes would be the regular dvd+/- r's which can be had for under 50 cents each

Why not cut the videos into multiple discs or just plain compress the videos to fit?

I don't see any economical ways to backup raw video files. I am taking my chance now and leaving them all on my HDs. But I also converted them all into DVDs. So in the worst case, I still have my original tapes and DVDs.

Since files are 10GB in size, I believe they are still in raw DV formats.
