I have a few things up for sale, re-doing my watercooling and I need to move a few of my old parts.

- AMD A64 3000+ Venice...LBBLE 0516EPKW stepping, does 2.7GHz (300x9) like nothing on my DFI Ultra-D. Memory controller on this thing is STELLAR...no gains from running any memory dividers, does everything you want at 1:1 up to about 330x9 1:1. Only a couple weeks old and OC'd to test it's capabilities. Ships with full retail package and stock cooler. Does 300x9 on the stock cooler. I tried simulating Pelt temps by putting my comp in the freezer, and with 20C load temps this thing does 2.9GHz very easily. 335x8 is also an option that I've tested, worked at 1:1 with my GSkill PC4400LE. Sold to slimeballzz

- DTek Pro Heatercore...silver finish /w shroud...in fairly good shape and work great. $25 + shipping

- DangerDen s478 TDX...includes all mounting hardware but not retail package...has been hand-lapped (by myself) to a 1500 grit finish and looks great. $35 + shipping

yea, I hear what you're saying, I"m not saying that this should all be swept under the rug, it'll take time for poeple to trust someone after they've screwed up, but try to keep an open mind about things. I just phoned him at work and he said hed send me the cash after work at 6. im still waiting and it is now after 7. BIG UPDATE. I got the package about half an hour ago. I took many pictures.

Personally I would put it back on first. Less chance of accidentally chipping the core while installing the HSF.

Might seem obvious, but make sure to use thermal compound between the IHS and the core! I put a heat spreader on a mobile P4 for my brother's laptop because the cpu originally in the laptop had one but the replacement we got didn't and it needed the ihs for the heatsink to fit properly. What I did was applied AS5 to the core like you would on an AXP and then put the ihs on with a very small amount of black rtv silicone (permatex) and put the cpu in a desktop motherboard. To get as good a bond as possible, I immediately installed a stock P4 cpu cooler to clamp the heat spreader on until the silicone cured. I don't remember the exact figure of clamping force a P4 cpu retention system applies, but I'm pretty sure it's more than you could get by setting say a 5lb block on the cpu, which I would say is more than enough. The way I did it, the pins were 100% protected.Been working great for just over a year now.

If you try to replace the heat spreader yourself, and you fail to get it tight enough against the core, then you're screwed.

i would agree, demand a refund, the product was no in such a condition that was described to you, therefore it did not meet expectations of what you were told so it is refundable....but then again, do you really think he will give it back? unless we get a few of the saskatchewaners to......make him pay it back

Yeah I'm asking him for the full refund. I've never dealt with an A64 with the heatspreader off and yeah I really don't want to go through the hassle of trying to put it back on as I never done it before. I'm not even sure if the cpu is working or not as I don't want to take the risk of putting on the heatsink on the core itself. Sigh.

Well I'm giving him till Monday to reply and send me my money back or I'll be calling the cops.

you can use the CPU without the heatspreader pretty easily, athlon socket A CPU's dind't have heatspreaders on them, and I've gone through about 10 differnt CPU's on my nf7-s and havent chipped one core, even with some pretty tight mounting of a variety of different water blocks. I wouldn't recomend trying to put the heatspreader back on the CPU, you're more likely to kill it doing that, than running it w/o the thing. Just get your money back, or use it w/o the heatspreader.

Yeah I just figured you can but I'm taking a risk of the core being chipped accidently and what IF one day it just died on me? I would have no warranty whatsoever.

I asked for a refund and he's already paid me $90 back. Still waiting for the remaining $110 which he said would be by Friday or next Monday the latest.

This is an old account from awhile back.....I don't really care if it gets locked as of now...I just want to try and clear up what I can.

There's nothing I can say about the first two bad deals on my record...I f$cked up...plain and simple. The most recent "thing" between me and fuzzy is a little more interesting.

First of all, we both assumed that it was my PSU and not my CPU that was dead...I sold it not knowing that it wouldn't work...and I was just as surprised as he was to find that it was DOA. He had paid me, and I deposited the money with my paycheque that friday. My bank has a bad habbit of holding my cash until a tuesday if I don't deposit 'till friday...and that's what happened. As soon as the money cleared through my account, I refunded fuzzy...and that was that. I was shocked to hear that he had gone to the cops...and even more annoyed to see a negative heatware under my name from him, when there was nothing that had happened that was under my control. I thought I did everything I could for him to ease the process by sending payment as fast as I could...but I guess I was wrong...

I have since paid fuzzy-1 back his cash...and he has just gotten back to me saying it's being shipped out asap after not being in town for the last week...nice to see "our thing" will finally see closure.

I realise that there's probly no way in hell that I'll ever get back on RFD...but I've since completed about three deals on [H] without delay/error and things are going well. Maybe after I rack up another 10 or so positive references, people will see that I'm not "out to get" anyone...and those two prior dealings were simply stupid mistakes on my part.

Oh, curtis (who bought my PSU, memory, monitor) if you're reading this.....my heatware is under cornelious0_0 and I'd like to see that positive from ya...I'm gonna have to start working on my references again...and after cutting you a deal on my stuff and the pickup going well, I'd hope we're still on each other's good sides.

I have paid slimeballz $90 thus far...and I'm recieving $110 from a co-worker today or tomorrow...which I will immediately deposit and send to him...we're still in the process of clearing things up...but I am on the way to show him that I'm truly sorry for what happened and that I'm not really as bad as all the flamming posts lead you to believe.

Balou and Madness...I'm deeply sorry for what happened with our deals...I don't know if the two of you will ever be able to forgive me for what happened...but hopefully after I've added another 5-10 consecutive positive references I'll start to regain some of your trust.

Ultimatley he did what he said he would do, although delayed. **** happens to us all and i feel he just had a bad couple of deal that coincidently happened at the same time. I retract anything ive said of him in the past and saying that i would deal with him again. I really feel he is trying to do right and payback what he has done, as we can see. Im just here to say that dont let any of the comments about him prevent you form dealing with him, i feel he is trying to prove to us that he can be an honest trader around the community. Once agian i would definately deal with him again, besides he states hell ship first anyways so whats to lose?

I sent the same message to all dozen or so mods of the FS/FT section here at RFD letting them know what happened and what I'm doing...and I'm still here, so I'm assuming that speaks for itself.

Gotta get ahold of Lil Big Mac...the zalman 7700 i sent him should be there any day here...one more deal finished up...and the heat from fuzzy is in the the process of getting changed..and i got that chip back in the mail.

So far so good...getting things done one at a time.

I actually just got a message on the phone today from Purolator saying that they tried to drop something off today and I wasn't around. Seeing as you sent the board out late last week, I'm guessing NCIX sent the replacement out yesterday and it came next day or something, cus it is sounding like the Ultra-D is back from replacement.

I would say it should stay up. As you said, you've had nothing but good feedback so far. So what have you to worry about?

I'm glad to see that everything got worked out. But in one of your posts, about the dead CPU you sold to fuzzy I believe, you said that you did everything you could. Well, no you didn't. You didn't test it against DOA.

I think that everything that has occured should be left public. Because if it were me buying from you, I would never even consider it given the past history you've had. There are no excuses for what happened. None at all. keeping that in mind, I would not trust that it would not happen again.

I wish you well in your future endeavours, but people have a right to know about previous transactions. And if you have fixed up your ways, then you should have nothing to worry about.
