Scam. They increased the price by $200 then give you a coupon for $100, how's that a "hot deal" for anyone but Dell?

Agreed, for example: Look down a few threads for the post regarding a $699 3000, it's the exact same computer that's selling for $838 on this 'deal'

lol, it's true, they did increase the price. I was configuring a dell 6000 just the beginning of this week and noticed now it's $100 more for the same config

umm...when I configure the $699 deal posted earlier, I'm getting a shipping charge of $79, which makes the price $778 b/tax. This deal is $838 with $10 shipping and a $75 off coupon, which is $773. So this is ACTUALLY LESS! So let's call Dell and tell them they're scamming us with a lower price.

Even with your calculation, you're not saving $100 you're saving $4. Wow! Thank you Dell.

I think it depends on which one you would like to take
for notebook 1200:
it's 848 if you follow this link http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=CADHS1&l=en&OC=OCINSP1200_AFF_CH12FJSA, and add the 3 years return to depot and cc for 200$,you can also apply the coupon, and get free shipping, the total you pay is 1090.XX which include tax
but if you follow this link : http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=CADHS1&l=en&OC=OCINSP1200_FSI_CH12FSJ
the notebook is 749, but the same service (3 years return to depot and cc ) costs 299, and you can not apply this coupon (at least for me :( ), so the price before tax is 1048.00, it's obviously more expensive than first one.
for people need a basic notebook, I think it's really a sweet deal.
