from my experience with ctc, the 2 items with the gas coupon, you dont really need the coupon if you purchase those items within the week of the flyer.
Secondly, I'd stay away from Jobmate, that brand really sucked...i bought 2 things from Jobmate. First a mecanics set of sockets and ratchet and the ratchet broke on my first turn. Another time i bought a vice-grip from Jobmate, the metal got stripped, it broke and the job wasn't even done.

Jobmate tools are low-end, but very inexpensive compared to others. You do take on a risk with any low-end product you buy, but in the cost-quality trade-off, I've been happy with my Jobmate products. If I were rich, I'd avoid these like the plague, but since I'm not, I'm happy to use them. Just my opinion.

I also noticed they have an all new 10" compound mitre saw (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6669852&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1118496152257&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443281501&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) for $149.99 ($50 off). 3 Year Warranty. Looks a lot nicer than their old one and a good value. The similar model sold at Sears goes on sale for $199 or so usually.

actually, i think it depends...
i remember some time ago i went in to buy something and the price scanned at the REGULAR price... and they said i had to have the physical coupon in order to get the discount...
went to the gas bar 2 min away and came back to get the price adjustment....... and oddly enuff the cashier just MANUALLY entered the price for the item; no scanning of coupon, entering coupon code, whatsoever...
kinda "gay" that u have to do that, but it IS part of a marketing strategy to get u to buy gas from CT FIRST, and then get the coupons.... (but usually i just ask the gas bar tender to give'em to me as they don't really care... :D )
I went to the gas bar yesterday (didn't buy gas) and the guy gave me a coupon no questions asked. I got the impression that it happens all the time.
I went into the store and they scanned the price of the fishing rod and it came up at the 75% off price so I didn't have to show the cashier the coupon. Interestingly, they had the "gas bar purchase" coupons for the previous two weeks right by the cash. Thus, you could go in next week and grab this weeks coupon without heading to the gas bar it appears.

hm... maybe it depends on location or somethin cuz their system didn't have the "updated price" on the item i bought... so thus i had to show'em the coupon and THEN would the cashier manually give me the discount.
btw, my local CT does NOT have coupons that u can take right from the cashier desk...
not saying that its a "big deal" to walk across to the CT gas bar that's 2 mins away, but its just that IMO its kinda dumb...
and yes, sometimes the cashier at the gas bar will give u the coupons no prblm cuz they don't care. ;)

I picked up one today also. For $12 you can't beat it. The clerk we found the pile of them for me told me to hang onto the receipt because they have a 1yr replacement warranty included if you have any problems. So now the deal is even hotter I think. I picked up the mastercraft 160pc rotary tool acc. kit as well that was on for 50% off from $49.99. So for a total of $37+taxes it's a sweet setup I think. A comparable dremel is better but costs $125 with the 160pcs included.
I went and bought the $12 Jobmate rotary tool. This will be my first experience with Jobmate products. For small sanding, polishing jobs it can't be that bad a product.

Rotary tool = Dremel. Jobmate rotary tool $12.
[Before I get flamed here, I'm not saying the Jobmate is as good as a Dremel.]

I picked up the Jobmate dremel... It seems to be a lot like a dremel. Same weight, very similar specs, pretty much the same injection moldings...
For $12 it is super hot!

What drill bits does the Jobmate rotary tool come with? I would like to drill some holes in PCBs at home when I forget one or two holes at school. Hopefully my hand will be steady enough so that I don't need a stand. :D
Would I have to buy the Mastercraft accessory kit for the small drill bits? I would like something around 30 mils.

Would I have to buy the Mastercraft accessory kit for the small drill bits? I would like something around 30 mils.
Hi, correct me if I am wrong but isn't 30 mils less than a millimeter? I don't think you will find what you are looking for in either of those rotary tool assortments. Not sure, but I think the only drill bits that are included are the ones that will actually fit in the collets (1/8" or 3/32" are the only ones I have, a rotary tool doesn't have an adjustable chuck like a drill it use a specific diameter collet like a router does).
maybe you would need something like this.. (http://www.michtoy.com/MTSCnewSite/supplies_folder/cutting_drilling/drills/60301.html)

Yes, 30 mils (0.03 inches) is under a millimetre.
Thanks for the information. My school has quite a few Dremel drills (not the clones, but the actual Dremel brand) that we use to drill PCBs. I know that those have a toolless adjustable chuck for inserting and removing drill bits, just like a cordless drill.
So these rotary tools have a fixed receptable like those hexagons for screwdriver bits?

Well, these Lee Valley bits (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=31007&cat=1,130,43409) are the real thing, I'm not sure what I think about "resharpened"...
I wouldn't be able to drill it without the stand, but I guess it is worth a try.
edit: doh!

No, not a fixed receptable like those hexagon screwdriver bits. They usually come standard with a 1/8" collet that will accept only round bits of the specified collet diamater. The collet is placed in the tool and then the bit slides into the collet and then a chuck cap is tightened on top to wrench tight the collet on to the bit (it is more secure than an adjustable chuck).
I am guessing that your school uses a chuck adapter similar to this one HERE (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000302ZV/ref=pd_sxp_f/102-7701144-8713767?v=glance&s=hi) I don't know if they sell those adapters at Canadian Tire but if so you would have to make a separate purchase (won't be included in an accessory kit).

Thanks for all of the information. :) The drill at school seemed to use the adapter that Captain Toonces linked to at Amazon.
As for the lee valley bits.... Over 50 cents for a resharpened drill.... :(
Okay, I am abandoning all my plans. :) Thanks for everything!

I picked up 4 of the fishing rods - great price at $9.99. They were in the store in a bin marked 75% off - no gas bar coupon need. This was at the Orleans, ON location
Cheers
