View Full Version : ** ALERT ** Do Not Deal with DealMakerz!

JayPatel

Until a current trade dispute has been resolved you are advised not to deal with DealMakerz for the time being. He has been banned from posting in threads but has access to PM's. Apparently DealMakers has bought a laptop off another user and paid via Fraudulent EMT.

He's had a few active threads lately so hopefully no one else has been involved in a trade.

hack into someones account. We now have reports that this is UbuyWeSell and BuyMe2003.

Beware of him. The user claims he is from Boston. insists on EMT and then sends an associate to pick up the merchandise. Another user has come forward with similar circumstances.

More info has surfaced. it appears this is the same individual as UBuyWeSell and BuyMe2003

He was selling a Virgin Mobile Phone (Audiovox 8910) a while ago in March...I sent many PM's and I think other people have too. He's been on ever since, and never replied or replied to his thread.
I'll dig up the link.

Hey guys.
I've dealt with this guy and he seems totally legit. Nice guy, drove up to my meeting point, sold me his almost unused xbox + a couple of games + a 120 GB for a DIRT CHEAP price. I talked to him live, he has a nice ride and everything. I even have his license plate number (sorry man, took it just in case - the deal he gave me was INSANE and I was just making sure I wasn't getting scammed).
Of course I will not disclose it to anyone unless some real evidence comes into play so don't even bother asking.
I must repeat myself he seemed real nice. He just msged me over msn

Without The Love Of My Life...There Is No Love And No Life says:

Without The Love Of My Life...There Is No Love And No Life says:

Without The Love Of My Life...There Is No Love And No Life says:
im guessing someone hijacked my rfd acc...i was lookin for a laptop but i guess someone was reading my pms and tried to get it with my id
Hope you can sort this out.

He screwed me back in December with the Seinfeld DVD set using name UbuyWeSell. Gave me some lame excuse about undeliverable. When I asked for a tracking number, that's when he stopped replying. Never did refund my money, and then disappeared from this site, only to return under a different name a few months later. I'm sure others got screwed as well.

If he did nothing wrong, why disappear and then change names?

He's a scammer and stay away from him.

If he refunds my money, I'll retract my statement

I've been victimized by the fraud emt :)
account holder gets their funds back..I was fortunate and they didn not find foul play against me..but they could have rescinded the funds sent to me.. it was for a laptop..and it was an rfd user.. I was not smart, and did not verify well enough (I had never had a bad experience with emt prior)

This is the same guy FOR SURE!!!

He ripped me off and said the same thing, except he was in Boston at the time or so he claims.

And sure enough his good friend (or brother in this case) from Toronto was there to pick it up for him.

What kind of ride did he have, was it a nissan with a body kit, because that was what he told me when we meet.

This individual may seem like a really nice guy in person, but don't be fooled. I even sat down and talked for this guy for awhile, then 2 weeks after receiving the Email Money Transfer (EMT), I get a call from the fraud department from TD, asking me about the EMT transfer.

Hey RFD ppl,

I have not been on RFD for a while and noticed you guys are talking about this kid. To add my 2 cents, I have met this guy about twice. First time to deal a i730 at yorkdale. He was going to sell it to me for $100 but I backed out because of the condition when I saw it. Apparently, he said he just quit the telus/mike store in that mall and wanted to sell some unused phones. Anyways, very weird but friendly guy. First time I met him, he jumped into my car like he was my best buddy. I felt alittle unconfortable with that. I just think he has a long string of bad luck. He wanted to make some quick deals to pay for his impounded car. He is always forgetting and losing stuff when I talk to him on the phone. For example, I met up with him a second time because he dropped in inno 55 in my car the first time we met. He drives a black (or some other dark color, can't remember) early 90s nissan altima. I don't know if this guy is getting framed because knowing him, I think he might have got his computer stole. I have his name and cell # but don't want to give it out until I am convinced he really is a scammer. He is about 5' 6" or 8", light black skinned with curly hair. If this is the guy you guys dealt with, let me know.

He tried to arrange a 2K deal on Staples GC's but when I asked the he meet

He claims that he never received my PM's. I felt something fishy about his behaviour and responses and ended the deal as well.

I have made a few observations about this person, DealMakerz.

1. Those who spoke good of DealMakerz only dealt with him in the situation where DealMakerz was a seller.

2. When DealMakerz was a buyer, he would allegedly send fraudulent EMT claiming he is located out of town and that he has a friend or relative in the city that can pick it up for him.

Those who buy/sell on RFD should be wise in who they are dealing with. If someone wishes to send you payment remotely, then you do the same back - mail the merchandise to him only. That way, he must provide his mailing address to you.

When dealing, either agree to a meetup and accept cash, or mail directly to a person. I mean c'mon, accept EMT and give your merchandise away to a pickup person means you are sending away your item with no trace of where it is going to. That means you will never really know any information on the buyer. You need to obtain enough information about a buyer before you do business with them. You need to verify who you are dealing with.

A little common sense goes a long way. I am all for a good deal, but these scammers present themselves with deals that realistically are too good to be true. COMMON SENSE means not getting sucked into a deal that seems too good. Meeting and trading is fine providing your GUT feeling is that the deal is right, fair and benefits both sides. If you smell a fish, doesn't it make sense to just walk away? Common sense......something you just can buy or trade for. Scammers profit off those who have never learned common sense.

Take it easy, it's not RFD's fault. Anyone can spoof their IP and commit fraud, having an IP will not help if it's spoofed. Also, if it's from an internet cafe, what r u going to do, send a SWAT team in bright red RFD uniforms to apprehend the fugitive and money transfer him right to the Mailer Daemon?
