I just saw some kid run over my garage!

Around 5-10 minutes ago I heard a loud noise near my window so I check to see what's up and there's this punk running on top of my back garage! He's a couple metres away and I shout to him "Dude, what the fu*k are you doing?", but he just jumps down and keeps on running. I find out he's runnings from the taxi who he didn't pay, so the taxi guy's going around the street shouting for him. The kid even broke my neighbors frence trying to climb up. Pretty stupid because he could've just walked around. Recently many odd things have been going on my street. Anyways, I should just go to sleep.

If he was smaller than you and looked unarmed, maybe (big maybe) you could have tried to grab him and make a citizen's arrest.

anyone know what to say to the cops when you make a citizen's arrest?

I heard you need to say you made a citizen's arrest and you had to use force because the person was resisting arrest.

Cops really do not like citizens making arrests it is to risky and the chances are it could hurt the case.If you use to much force your the one that could end up in jail.

That's not necessarily true. Depends on the situation. If he is on your property and you beat the crap out of him then it is legal because he is traspassing on private property and you have the right to defend your property. However, If he leaves and you chase him down and beat the crap out of him then you might have some problems there (it's hard to say who's going to win in that case).

you don't have the right to beat the piss out of someone simply because they are ON your property though. As much as i agree he should be able to neat the crap outta them, you'll still find yourself up on charges if it's simply because he was 'in your yard'

It does not matter if he is on your yard or in your house it is not legal to beat him.And you will face charges.There have been a few cases over the past year year where people were getting robbed and the owners went to try and stop these people and guess what they got more jail time then the people who broke in.
