If that's their policy, then yes.

They use it as an advertising tool, they better honor it. Besides, whats better advertising than having someone walk out with a 100 cordless phone for $10 and telling EVERYBODY "I got a phone for 10 bucks!!"

Yes.

It is right even if you take everything off the shelf. Althought its evil because you take it away from other RFD's, but i'd rather you take ALL of them so you can sell it COST to other people. Since STooples would then take them all away and OOS them.

If you get the product for free, that shows how OVERPRICED staples is compared to others.

This will turn into one of the most lop-sided poll in the history of RFD, I'm sure. :D

Significant difference there, though..

How?

Say, for example he took all 10 of the products off the shelves. And he got them for free when they cost $80? (I'm guessing the phone is around $50). Because we know Stooples would take them off the shelves after he got one for free.

(Assuming Stooples let him take all 10, like how Dominion let him take all the free food)

1) The cakes were not expired.
2) He was not a CUSTOMER.. he is a LEECH. When you PM something at Staples, you still BUY it from them (unless you only go to Staples in order to get free after PM items..)
3) He spent HOURS SEARCHING the store for expired products.

The difference is between complying with the letter of the policy and the spirit of it.

seee.... it's just funny how 96% of the people here voted right here.. while only ~50% voted right in the grocery thread...
they are both using the company's policy in a way the company didn't intend...
both are abusing the policy...

They scammed me for my laser printer 4 years ago when i wanted a 100% pm. They don't care to put a simple no order between 8PM to 8AM during the phantom stock days and sometimes they charge you full price when there is a mistake even if they know there was a price mistake.

The managers will fight you to the bitter end when you try to PM so for just that its good to hurt a little their exceeding profits.

The problem was there was no option if you are rich or not.
Rich No
Poor Yes

It's just a simple matter of policy. They openly advertise they are willing to PM at 150%... so be it.

It's one of the ways they ensure other customers they arent getting jipped at staples. I don't really feel that bad about PMing something. Staples headquarters are probably ready to take the loss of PMs anyways, so why not?

In fact, by doing PMing, we may be lowing staple's prices, so in retrospec, by my PMing, it will help the next customer get the same product at a reasonable price compareable to other retailers out there. And therefore, save HIM money that he didnt know he could save.

Wow... I think I just proved that PMing is a good thing.

You'd have to give more details, but PM'ing is not wrong, nor abusive. It's when people will go to Staples and PM the entire stock. I don't believe getting 15 free keyboards from a company (regardless of policy) is right, just because another store has a sale. However, a keyboard at a fraction of the cost for someone who needs a keybaord, sure.

To the OP, you really need to work on your sentence structure.. You are asking 3 different questions and asking us to base our judgement on those 3 questions.

Is it right to PM a product. Yes

Is it right to get 10% off a product. (I don't know how... maybe with a coupon?) Yes.

Is it right to get a high priced product for free. Sure, but I still thinks it's abuse and probably would never do it.

The details between this thread and the grocery thread are totally different, so don't compare them.

BTW: I wasn't the one who voted No.

I dont think I can vote no because I got the half life platinum ed. from them ($60) for free on a PM.

I think it's ok to get a PM when their prices are higher, but I also don't think you should ONLY go to the place for PMs. Personally I don't buy most of my computer stuff there, but I do go there for other things (stationary and the like), so I don't feel bad anytime I go for a PM.

Abusive PMs are wrong, legit ones are...legit

Agreed.
1 or 2 of the item in question is ok, but clearing their stock and/or abusing their policy by PMing something that is similar but not the same?...

The line is there, it just depends if you cross it.

It depends on where your line is. Everyone's line is different.

True.. but do you really need 15 keyboards?

That's not his point. His point is, that might be perfectly acceptable to some people. Do I look down on these people? Hell yeah I do. Some people think:

It's just a simple matter of policy. They openly advertise they are willing to PM at 150%... so be it.
