Just wondering if anyone had noticed that God/Jesus have 5 fingers and toes on the Simpsons - and I think the Family Guy - while all the other characters have 4. Any ideas why this is?

Symbolism for God is perfect?

I dunno, seeing how USA is heavily influenced by Christian values (George Dubbya Bush) and how alot of the TV shows have deeper meanings it's possible. (Remember the Simspsons episode where all the children get stranded on an island, which was an obvious allusion to Lord of the Flies?)

Symbolism for perfection - sure - I guess but I think the Simpson's have been around before the hard shift to the right so I am not so sure.

Also, King of the Hill - I think they all have the "right" number of fingers and toes.

It was just something the wife and I noticed :)

Actually, if you watch The Simpsons closely enough, you would realized the comment about no character having five fingers is incorrect. Before Radioactive Man gained his super powers he had four fingers. However, Radioactive Man has five fingers after his transformation.

Wow - that's pretty cool - in fact I had NOT noticed this.
So what's your take on the four versus five fingers..

he's not the only reason that the US has a heavy christian influence.
Remember 'in god we trust' was always on the penny.
