Does anyone know any cheap trading companies? I've seen commercials for companies like TD Waterhouse and ETrade, but are there any companies you know that have cheap trading fees and account maintanance fees and such?

I also want reliable service and I don't mind using a US site. I'm going to be doing very little trading, I just want to ease into it and start my self off.

Any help is appreciated...thnx :o

They are all pretty much the same I've seen bmo, td, and etrade and it varies. Commisions are only marginally diffrent from 25-30$ per transaction and there is a low user fee of about $15 a quarter.
If you are a TD customer I would hands down recommend td waterhouse. It offers the best integration with current online banking, and it has the best research of all of them.

E-Trade and BMO are very similar in my opinion although I think BMO has some more tools for portfolio analysis.

That's where this thread belongs

Interactive brokers seem to be the cheapest ;)

Interactive Brokers, by and far...next cheapest is Ameritrade Canada...that's who i'm with. TD Waterhouse and the other banks are the worst. Do not go to them if you're trading. prices are way too high.
