Something wrong with my phone or phone line?

I'm with Telus and ever since I got voice mail box, this is been happening
phone rings, as soon as I pick it up and it disconnects/hungs up.
Other person calling says I didn't pick it up and went into voice mail
and sometime when I pick up the phone to call someone, my dialtone goes
d d d ddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

read the front half of your phone book and try using *94 and *98

I believe the "d d d ddddd" indicates that you have new voicemail.
