sure it is....for all you know it could be downloading a local file off the rig's own hard drive or another rig on the local netowkr.

Might be possible, depends on what connection you're using and where you're downloading from. Really looks like LAN speeds though

im using rogers express.. im downloading a cs demo from filefront...

rogers express doesn't go that fast, so no, not possible with ur connection...

i bet that some parts of the file was already being transfered (cached) before it displayed it being downloaded
hence when it started to calculate the time, there was already a chunk of the file on your hard drive and not so much left to download
that is the most logical explaination i can think of
or it could just be connection jumping up and down

I think it could be cached as well. I don't think the connection can jump that much and if it does, it's usually at the beginning

i agree with Evil, not possible on such high speed on fibre optical line, i guess your connection is jumping up and down like our @ Vancouver too, these past week is awful connection, unstable packets everywhere. :(

I highly doubt thats possible. The higest speed I've gotten it 700kb/s on shaw extreme.
