That's good thinking (Academic rival.. :twisted: ), only that I really don't see how Sandman will be truely amazing in CG as a villain.

BTW, as of now I can only imagine Topher Grace would have been a perfect replacement as the next Spidey if and only if Tobey Mcguire is being replaced which I wouldn't want either.. :cheesygri

Topher's personality and looks are too soft to be as a villain. He would be a perfect friendly rivalry (classmate) to Tobey(Spidey).

Venom? Are you serious? Eddie Brock is/was huge. I'm not sure who's using the symbiote now in the comic books (they got weird and let the Scorpion "buy" the suit) but Eric Foreman = Venom? Ack.

If Raimi really wants to follow the true story/history, he should have Connors as the Lizard, and The Scorpion, as he was originally introduced around the same time JJJ's son was introduced.

I still think Venom is such a stupid idea. How are they going to:

-Have Harry be the Goblin
-Parker gets the suit
-Loses/Gives up the suit
-Introduce Eddie Brock
-Introduce Brock as Venom

In 2-2.5 hours? Seems so rushed.

However, nobody will like the Scorpion, or many of Spidey's "original" foes, as they were all pretty much one trick ponies. Its pretty bad already that Gwen Stacey is totally written out, but what can you do.

I still think Mysterio would be awesome, or the Sinister Six. Kraven would be sweet. Even Electro (who possibly I could believe Grace playing) would be nice.

One thing is pretty clear - If 'Venom' is in "Spider-Man 3", then that's actually be the main villain or the character's focus because of the complexities of the role. And then I don't mind the second villan be 'Sandman'.. :lol:

Right, they can go in the other direction and show Eddie Brock as very similar to Peter Parker (looks, attitude, the works) before he becomes Venom.

I really doubt they're going to put Vemon in the next movie. Vemom is like the most popular villain in the spider-man series. If they put him in the next movie, it'll prob. become the peak of the series and the rest of the movies in the future will sux so much..

Who was that guy who could turn into water? I remember him from the 90s cartoon (sorry, haven't studied the comics) He had some connection to MJ or something.
Maybe Topher could play him? Although, if you already have a guy who can turn to sand, why do you need a guy who can turn to water.

Maybe he'll be the scientist who creates something for Harry Osbourne to rule/detroy Spiderman/the world.

Or the Vulture in a story change to make him youger, but do the Doc Oc thing, and make him help spidey destroy the Goblin at the end... eh, who knows.

Why would they trade in Tobey for another kid. If anything they would get someone a bit older so they can transition to him. Not to mention that Scarlett was a pure clone (looked exacly like him).

Yeah, that is a definate possibility but without Venom...Carnage does not exist.

I got it...Grace is Mysterio...would make a good geek under the costume.

Edit: Chruch isn't confirmed as sandman...must have heard it here. Maybe it will be venom and carnage after all but in 2 hours...no way...

As for Topher.. Could he be an Eddie Brock? I know Eddie's casted to be a bigger guy than Peter, but maybe Raimi's going for someone with a similiar physique, who would have direct competition with Peter, over getting pictures of spiderman..

Remember, Peter's been unknowingly keeping Eddie Brock down for a number of years, this doesn't just start with two free-lance photographers working for the Bugle. ... So this makes the connection more obvious. 2 nerds, same hobbies.. one resenting the other.. One being spiderman... the other being Venom.. and Parker eventually stealing the alien suit from Brock too :)

They don't have to necessarily close all ties within the scope of 2 1/2 hrs. They could leave it ending with 1 villain thwarted and the other in an omnious prelude to a sequel..

On that note.. What's the sidekick from Sideways going to be?
