I got an e-mail from HMV about this. I think they should pull Alanis's product from the shelfs. I don't want "exclusive" deals to be the future of CD releases as less competition means higher prices. I believe in capitalism but part of the capitalist system is that consumers can react and decide how they want to spend their money and who they support.

So, go to the link at the end to vote to keep the Alanis Morissete stuff on shelves or off shelves

HMV Canada is soliciting feedback from its consumers to help it determine whether it should consider removing Alanis Morissette products from its stores for a period of time.

As you may recall, last year HMV Canada took a stand against a Elton John’s ‘retail exclusive’ arrangement, which limited availability of a new DVD to only one retailer, thereby excluding HMV and other retailers from offering the DVD to their loyal consumers.

As Canada’s leading music retailer, we at HMV continue to believe that this type of major artist ‘retail exclusive’ is not in the best interests of Canadian consumers. As such, we at HMV have decided to solicit your feedback as we decide whether or not we should now consider removing Alanis Morissette products from our stores for a period of time as a means of protest against this exclusive arrangement.

Alanis Morrisette? The first CD was excellent. After that, all downhill.
