The next gen consoles have been unvailed at E3 and they are lookin pretty cool. Which design do you like best? The Nintendo console is looking pretty sweet to me, and has my vote.

I think the Xbox360, closely followed by Ps3.

The Nintendo one just looks ugly to me. It looks like an ugly router/modem. Reminded me of D-link routers.

Ironic that the Nintendo console is the only one that's black, while the others have jumped to a silver look.

Hope this also represents a willingness on Nintendo's part to do mature titles. Look, it's fine if they want to be a little more kid friendly than their competitors, but only a little. Little 5 year old Billy and Bobbie don't have half a grand per console; it's the adults that can afford this stuff.

I guess you guys don't like fighters? can't play fighting games with an analog pad... need precise direction. PS3 design is pretty stinky imho... if they stuck with the old PS2 controller and made it silver and wireless that would have been very cool. Over-enginerring imho.

Have you never played said fighters in the arcade where they originated? ;)

An analog stick is capable of just as much precision as digital. Even more sometimes. I still remember playing my original PS and pressign left, but it would screw up and hit down as well.

At this point Revolution has most room to impress and most room to fail. I am hoping for success. They have already said some things they fixed from the Cube era (which even with errors was successful in my opinion). They will have Std DVD format, backward compatibility, a system that will fit in with your Home Theater, and the big one Online support.

I hope that the Revolution is so good that in the system wars it will go like this
1st Revolution
close 2nd Xbox 360
in a dismal sold 5 systems 3rd Sony

But since Sony has secured the fanboy market I don't see it changing at all even if Sony releases a piece of wood on wheels that won't play anything but pong and Nintendo releases the best thing since toast. I mean people were talking about how awesome the PS3 would look before the first picture came out, talking about how awesome the games are for it before one is release, and about how powerful it is even when the PS2 had very little.

So my actual prediction is things will stay the same:
1st Sony
2nd Xbox 360
3rd Nintendo

Revolution looks the nicest. 3 dvd cases stacked is TINY plus it looks very sleek and unassuming. Hooray for the fact it doesn't seem to have a dvd tray :)
Although technically it sounds pretty crappy compared to the others :(

I like the side of the ps3, but the front of the xbox.. The side of the xbox looks pretty plain..but cant see the rest of the ps3 really...

I sure hope that Sony is gonna make games more like Xbox does..lotsa online stuff..

Well, there have been some interesting developments here... although no one here has mentioned anything about them, so I wonder if people realize?

Nintendo:
The highest likelyhood of being pirated on a mass scale (uses standard DVDs)
Excellent control of the niche market
Excellent first party software content

Microsoft:
The Next highest likelyhood of being pirated, using Dual Layer DVDs (assuming the DVD reader can handle DVD±R9 media)
Strong fan base
First system of the 3 to be released, so likely to gain a strong portion of the market

Sony:
Least likely to be pirated (using Blu Ray)
Most powerful system by the numbers
highly praised SDK support (very important for their new processor design!)
currently losing 3rd party support to Microsoft... this may change now!

But the single most important thing that I noticed... is that since the PS3 uses BluRay discs... this system will be BY FAR the most flexible for when it comes to game programming, as well as future upgrades as the industry matures. It is even possible the PS3 will outlast the XBox 360 and Nintendo Revolution and move on as it is, into the future next generation console wars, simply because it is 1 or 2 steps ahead of the competition, much like the PSX/1 did when it came out.

Although I do not personally like the design, I think I am liking the PS3 far FAR more then the other systems, simply because they decided to look at the future of video games and movies, and not just the present. In my opinion, the PS3 deserves the title "Revolution" much more then the Nintendo system does :cheesygri

But, as I'm sure we would all agree on, it is the games that make the system... so it will take a lot of time to see which system will truely become the best!

For me, I'd like to see:

#1 PS3
#2: Nintendo Revolution
#3: XBox 360

But I doubt that will happen! :lol:

Yeah, very doubtful that Nintendo will come in anywhere other then 3rd. Or at least in North America.

PS3 could top Xbox360. Though I'd guess it will be alot closer for the time being then with Ps2/Xbox.

2nd: PS3, no change in size. + multiple colors -ve needs to have PS3 written in PS2 case style writing

3rd : Revolution (sp?) looks like a pc/toaster whatever!!!! needs to look more kiddy and fun like GC.

You're wrong. The PS3 is larger than the original PS2. Significantly more, in fact :). They really want it to be the centerpiece of your entertainment plus they need to find a way to cool the ultra hot nvidia and cell chips inside ;).

The 360 just looks like a white xbox... Personally, I think Nintnedo will recpature some of the market share from Sony, whilst Xbox's will also grow.

I suspect console share to be something like 65%-PS3 15%-Revolution and 20%-Xbox 360. This is on a global scale. I think right now, PS2 has something like 76% market share with Nintendo and Xbox close together. I also bank on the 360 failing in Japan as the Xbox has.

PS3 and Xbox both rank the same for me. I'm not a big fan of their curves but they're both better looking than the Rev.

Of all the consoles I've ever owned, pop-up top aside, my personal favorite design is the GameCube. It's small, it's flat, and it's a cube!

PS3 has got to lose that Spider-Man font. The rest of the system looks nice though. The boomerang controllers look very strange and excessively long though. Xbox360 also looks great.

I also like Sony more, not only for their design of the console but the games and the power this PS3 possesses :D

I just hope that all 3 of these consoles dont screw us over, I hope those screenshots and demo videos that I have seen is surely how good gaming will be when we play IN-GAME.

Xbox 360:

-it looks like a box..sigh
-its white..meh
-its quite noticeable(see the slim PS2)
-controllers look okay-ish
-has customizable faceplate

PS 3:

-gonna get sued by BOSE lol
-controllers look like boomerangs...the kind u cant hold in 2 hands properly
-its big and its white..tho colors differ
-has some strong titles

Revolution:

-its nintendo...aka 5 yr old kid games...enjoyable only for so long
-the metal black looks slick(none of that plasticky stuff)
-price will be an issue specially if they target kids again


so my choice?

none.. they all look like crap... xbox seems to look designed well but its a box thinned in the middle...sony copied bose home theaters and nintendo is a black box.

whoever designed these must've had a sign that read "will design for food" and was homeless.

You either make the console so little/small that its almost out of sight (nintendo seems to be trying that) or you have an AMAZING design or idea that you want people to say "WoW"..which aint happening.

Personally I'd rather have a console that is the same proportions as hometheatre gear... fit in the cabinet nicely. Xbox1 is the closest thing.
