That's actually quite sleek. I'm not too impressed by the design but it'll fit nicely amongst everything else.

Only 2 - 3 times more powerful than GameCube apparently... quite disappointing in that sense.

we'll see the tech specs in a bit
i really don't see why it wouldn't be as graphical as the 360 since they both use ATI GPUs...
and also, what defines "more powerful".... that's so up in the air.

well... 3x the power (considering Resident Evil 4)... still impressive. Always count on the big N to come through with decent games.

I used to think that. But the majority of Gamecube games I found to be average at best. Not up to Nintendo's standard.
Revolution is the one next gen system I probably don't have interest in buying. Maybe when the price gets extremely cheap(like what I did with GC, but not before).
Xbox360 and PS3 however I will be willing to shell the money out for.
After being bored by the GC I'm not going to spend alot of money next round.

Well, if it's only 3x as powerful as the current Cube then Nintendo could price it 3x as cheap as the Xbox 360 and PS3. That might be low enough that a lot of gamers will pick one up (as their second console) just because of the price.

GameSpot has the live unveiling...if you're a paying Complete member.
Honestly, I prefer the X-Box 360 look (ducks rotten fruit and hard objects).

IMO I think this is the nicest looking console of the 3. But I dread that it sounds like it's underpowered.
But hey, if they launch at like $149 US or something like that, that's not that bad a price :D

Considering it has a standard wireless controller and online capability, I think we're looking at $300 US/$400 Canadian even before a game/memory... :(

Probably more reasonable.
I was willing to spend $100 for a GC with average games, and a couple exclusives that I wanted to play.
I won't be willing to pay $300+ for average games plus a couple of exclusives that interest me.

I might just wait for the eventual $89 Futureshop sale which incidentally was when I got my 'Cube :). So far I haven't seen anything "revolutionary", not even from Sony's tech demos.

hehe... i remember that... i got it for $120 - $40 MIR... that was awesome. As for the GC ho-hum titles... I quite enjoy the nintendo titles.

I love my GC, if you have friends and into party games its one of the best systems out there. Also, Resident Evil 4 was the best game in this generation IMO ofcourse.
Long lived Nintendo! This thing is gonna look so cool next to my PS3 :)

A little bit off topic, but why is that some of the GameCube games are more expensive now then when they were originally released, especially the Resident Evil series ? Do they go out of print ?

I also was really happy with my cube. I bought it at the $199 when Mario came out - can't say it was a mistake. Of all my systems this is the records my Cube holds:
Most time spend playing games (although xbox live has kept it close)
Most games for a system (well over 20)
Most full priced games (games are good enough that I don't wait till they are players choice or discounted)
Best party games for when you hae friends over (PS2 doesn't even support 4 controllers without an add on and I find everytime I go to play 4 player Xbox or PS2 it is a disappointment)
GREAT 1st part games
Problem with the cube that keep it from being my only system:
No live/online (remedied with the revolution)
Not enough 3rd party support (but I mean who can blame them Nintendo's 1st and 2nd party games are so good who buys the 3rd party games)
Long live Nintendo....
and Microsoft.
Die Sony - you need to fail to rise from the ashes and impress us.

WOW.
Built in emulator. You can play anything ever put in a NIntendo system.
From NES to Gamecube.

Holy crap that SUCKED.
Nintendo almost had nothing to show regarding Revolution for the conference other than some rendered (very ugly by the way) Samus with the spaceship behind her.
Other than the built in emulator, nothing terribly new or exciting.
Nintendo = niche market for the console business if they don't have much more to show in this E3.

Hmmm... I'm a Nintendo supporter but I just don't know what to think of the Rev now. Is the Rev it's official name now? Nintendo never keeps their code names ie, Ultra 64, Project Dolphin, etc.
I heard Nintendo is going to announce Mario 128 finally at E3 soon. I hope it's still gonna be for the Cube cause Mario Sunshine didn't quite hit the spot for me. And we need an official Mario vs Bowser in the Mushroom Kingdom game before the Cube goes 6 feet under, dammit!.
Only two~three times more powerful isn't bad as long as the games hold up. Consoles usually make that leap anyhow. 8bit to 16bit, 16bit to 32bit (or 64), 64bit/32bit to 128bit, etc.

All they could talk about were about dogs, and how they (Nintendo) don't suck. Once again, comparing apples to oranges, and rehashing the same products (how many Gameboys are there? Another Mario Party!?)
Revolution is the official name and it doesn't make sense to launch Mario 128 on GC because it generate hardware sales on Rev.

From what I've read Nintendo is using 4 or 5 PowerPC CPUs at 2.5ghz.
I wonder how the emulation works, does it have ports for cartridges or do we burn roms?

I really wanted more from the conference. A little disappointed. However, they will show Zelda at the show, and it should own.
Also about that 2-3 times the power of Gamecube comparison...
PS2 -> PS3 = 35 times
xbox -> 360 = 10-12 times
gc -> rev = 2-3 times
You are all forgetting that xbox and gamecube are at least 2 times the "power" of ps2. Which would put 360 about the same level as the ps3. Sony is playing with numbers here, be careful. I don't trust anything Sony says in that conference, since it will be exaggerated to it's advantages.
Anyways... that was a little off topic...
I can't wait to get my Rev... it'll be nice to have 2 systems to play my GC games and makes me wonder if I can network my GC with Rev to play LAN games.

You download them from their online net service for a price. Probably $2 or $3 a game or they might sell them in package deals.
Anyone else wonder how this thing is gonna take cube games? The discs are smaller than regular DVDs and the Rev seems to have a feed in drive. What happens if you feed the cube disc down near the bottom or up near the top instead of directly in the middle? Will it still catch?

Damnit, so that white helmet thing was totally bogus?
I thought it would be, the world's not ready for VR.

Yea everyone knew it was fake but I was hoping though they would go for a revolution. Instead we get emulation standard in a console (and you pay per game downloaded on the service), wifi (snore) and some newfangled controllers. So new they're not gonna show it till much later.
Zelda looked pretty awesome but after being jaded by Sony's CGI presentation yesterday, it's hard to look back even though Zelda looked gorgeous and will likely play even better than its looks.
People were chuckling when Miyamoto was telling the Nintendogs demo chick (her name was tina wood) he wants to take her "backstage" and show her "some tricks" :D
Didn't know Miyamoto was a DOM.
Oh and we have to remember Nintendo always underhypes their consoles. People were saying the GC based on released poly count, was far less powerful than the PS2 which Sony overhyped and underdelivered. I doubt it'll be 5 times less powerful than the Xbox 360.
