I recently picked up a Shuttle SN41G2V3 barebone kit, hoping to run an ASUS GeForce FX 5700 and a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 MCE. Everytime I tried installing (any of) the drivers for the Hauppuage card, I would get the Windows XP "blue screen of death" complaining about a "stop" error related to a specific driver file. I had no such problems in the previous system.

Anyone here experience similar problems with their Shuttle kit, whether it be with Hauppauge cards or others? I've tried fresh installs of Windows XP Pro with minimum hardware such as onboard graphics instread of my GeForce card, updated to the most recent BIOS version, installed the most recent Hauppauge drivers, even previous ones. Still the same thing. If I can't get it to work, then I might have to go back to my crappy ATI TV Wonder VE.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!

What was the error? SP2 installed? Driver version? XP Pro or MCE?

Windows XP Pro identified it as a "stop" error, and the culprit driver file was hcwPP2.sys, which is essentially the most important file. The error occurred in clean installs of both XP Pro SP1 & SP2. I downloaded the most recent drivers from the Hauppauge web site. Everytime I get the "blue screen of death" and reboot my system, some Windows files are corrupted and then truncated, so my NVIDIA audio drivers get so corrupted that I still get no sound even after reinstalling the NVIDIA nForce drivers. I'm pretty sure it's the Hauppauge card conflicting with the Shuttle mobo, but I'm wondering if there is a way to work-around it. Any suggestions?...

Thanx!

Try moving the Hauppauge to a different PCI slot.

Unfortunately, Shuttle kits only have one AGP slot and one PCI slot.
