All Express companies claim import goods at Customs, no way to escape from it.

There is a fee, I think it was 6.95 last time I imported something. I remember the actual tax was only $4-5 dollars.

$5 brokerage, then the taxes. Much better than UPS/Fedex.

I don't think it's USPS that levy's the charge..its CanadaPost on this end.

You can also avoid the brokerage charge that UPS charges by just calling them and having your package held at depot. Go down, get your claim form, take it to customs yourself and save yourself the $$$.

It's great here as the UPS depot and the customs office are right next door to each other.. it takes me 5 min. to clear customs myself, I'd rather pay that $35 or whatever they charge for my 5 min. of time rather than shell it out to UPS.

i think PBB does brokerage for DHL and they charge $6.95 or $7.95 plus the taxes owed if i remember right. they might have a scale for their fee based on the value of the goods etc.

That's funny... PBB charged me like $50 brokerage for a free gift I received from Europe

They need to increase the value of the goods allowed for tax exemption, 20 bucks is just ridiculous

You must be getting mixed up with taxes and brokerage.

Brokerage with DHL is $5 (I imported a shipment that was a few thousand dollars and that's all it was), but you still have TAX to pay if it's over $20 ($60 if a gift).
