It's finally happened, TV torrent sites are being shut down in droves (http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=786).
This is a pretty stupid move, as TV torrents fuel DVD sales. I only used 1 of the 6 listed sites, but it's still an annoyance.
Anyone want to "share"?

That was my reaction too, lol...maybe I better finally learn to use IRC, and locate the "proper channels"...

Well, that explains it. I've been spoiled by TV torrents, I tried watching shows on the TV when I moved back home but I can't stand all the commercials. I refuse to be a slave to the TV guide. The way I see it, I'm paying for cable TV anyways, so I should be able to watch the shows that air on those channels any way I want.

It's lame, the only reason I have been downloading tv shows lately is the hdtv down converts have better picture quality than the expressvu I pay for is putting out.....

the MPAA are bastards! Now I'll have to look up my TV shows elsewhere. They'll never stop downloading and/or bittorrents.

don't worry...after supr went down...so many new ones popped up and replaced it....and some even got larger...my top 3 are still alive but the "BF" one was my main source of TV torrents and the bastards closed it down!...but I already found a new one it shares its name with a "car" and they have all the latest tv torrents.
peace...keep BT alive!

i dont see them cracking down unless the Japanese govt wants to do something about it. It will just go underground again thru newsgroups and irc.

HD is the main reason I get torrents plus there are just too many shows that are great but have the same time slot....

Didn't a fansub site get cracked down on this year? I seem to recall reading something on slashdot

There are a lot of American licensees picking up options on Japanese material; that counts under the MPAA, I believe.

now this really sucks. i relied on them cuz i didn't have time to watch/tape all my shows. the HD quality was a bonus too :cheesygri
this just makes it harder to keep track with my shows, damn them!
time to search on alternative methods :)
