So... after school today (in high school) I went to Staples store #32 with a couple friends... one wanted the 512MB Sandisk USB drive (Stooples vs Costco) and the other wanted X-230 along with myself also wanting X-230.

So, there's two on shelf... we take it to cash, they'll only do ONE!! I'm like we're separate customers!.. Mike and Ahmed (managers) were like no you guys walked in together.. and we're a retail store we have the right to limit quantities.

Anyway, only got one set of speakers. but couldn't get USB drive cuz apparently they don't PM Costco (cuz they're a wholesaler) although it's on their list.

Oh well, any input on this? Think I should contact headoffice?

Wow, that's a load of BS, it doesn't f'n matter if you walk in together, you're different customers. I would definately report that #%^$. As far as i'm concerned, they loose their right to refuse a sale ("limit quantities") since they plaster their PM policy everywhere.

Does anyone know if staples have to do more work for PM or for refunds? If refunds are hassles to them, you can purchase it at full price and go to a counter to request a PM or a full refund. I dunno. Just a theory.

yes, i think u should definitely call HQ...

ur PM was totally legit,, and the stooples MOD did not have the right to say that they're limiting quantities just cuz u walked in with a couple individuals....

the PM policy clearly states that its limit quanities to any SINGLE individual....

can't guarantee u get it, but i've heard ppl complain and get what they wanted... ;)

The girl called Bestbuy to check stock and Bestbuy person on phone essentially ignore her by saying "just come and you can get one, I'm not checking the stock." Still have 6~8 on the floor in Stooples. The manager didn't even bother to ask or change the price. The longest wait is for the time that Bestbuy picking up the phone.

Yeah, it was actually quite funny, the girl didn't know what to do after she hanged up and asked the girl besides. That's why I heard about it. Maybe the BB person knows it's from Stooples. (From call display or she said it??)

Winnipeg is usually the Stooples PM haven. I have never had any PM denied. :D
