if you watch the video.. around the end all the girls were replying to a question saying "I didnt know that!".

And the question was.... "Did you know you could get STDs from oral sex?"

They all just giggled and looked at each other saying " oops! I didnt know that!"
another girl "i didnt know that either! hehe..."

It's not real sex. to me, sex is intercourse. When you lose your virginity, that is sex

So oral sex isn't sex?

No.

That... was genius.

i fear for the future of the human race.

I'm currently 16 and I would say my peers are pretty well-informed. I think they just picked up some ditzes on the street and asked them.
BTW, for the older RFD'ers how was high school when you were growing up?

Same.... when I was in high school.... pre-2000, people knew which girls were sexually active.... and it wasn't a badge of honour.

Yeah. It's like the people that answer the questions on Street Smarts. They are all just wacko's.

Although I am not 16, most people I know have a clue about sex and STD's.

Things are a lot different than in my HS days. My wife's a HS teacher, and the stories she hears, let me tell you...

Girls are handing out blowjobs like candy these days.

I graduated in 1998, and it was the same thing. The good kids, like the "popular" crowd tended to keep it on the down-low.
The people who were known to be sexually active were the "skanks" and the kids on the fringes, ya know? The people who wouldn't be going to college.
I can think of about 5-6 girls who got pregnant in HS, and they were basically shunned.

I too remember the days of the mid-90s in high school...there were people who were having sex, but you were never really sure unless you were friends with them and they told you.

Damn, chicks snapping out hummers in high school? And bragging about it? Doesn't it make you want to be a horny 16-year old guy in high school now?

Nothing has changed, except for our propensity to talk about it more openly. 15 year olds were having sex in the 1600s, 1890, 1973, and today. People somehow keep thinking that there is something new under the sun when it comes to human sexual behaviour. There isn't. Every kink, position, fetish and activity has been around forever.

What hasn't been around forever is our ability to get so much information from so many sources all at once and spit it out so openly to so many people.

Sadly, since the dawn of time, the stupidest/least educated (not the same thing, no, but leading to the same outcome at times) among us are the ones that don't understand sex, and thus tend to wind up with more problems/STDs/babies than smarter people. So sad.

Probably the one thing that has changed in recent times is the social acceptability factor. It is as wide open as images flashing around the internet and as insidious as playful popular sitcoms like Friends which is essentially a show about having easy sex. Way back in my day, when the shows kids watched were more like Happy Days, the sexual element was simply not open, acceptable and matter of fact. It at least made you feel you weren't wierd by not participating. It seems the situation has completely reversed itself today.

Sex sells. The only things I watch without sex in them are Sports and Myth Busters. The rest have a sexual element... and sports entertainment is going down from the recent years.

lol my school had a lot of sex incidents, our school had a prostitution problem, the OAC girls would pimp out the gr 9s, people go up to the OACs and pay $50 for a blow job from a gr 9, all this to be popular?

Then there was an incident when a girl send her bf nude pics of herself to her bf and they broke up the bf posted it up on the internet, and the pics of her was when she was 14-15

Didn't they have and wear chastity belts in the 1600's at least? Or was it only for Royalty?

Any real man that takes those spikes like a champ ends up a eunich.

You mean a eunuch?

1) A castrated man employed as a harem attendant or as a functionary in certain Asian courts.
2) A man or boy whose testes are nonfunctioning or have been removed.
3) Informal. An ineffectual, powerless, or unmasculine man.

You never know, maybe that's the next kinky thing to do.

That was a humorous reference to the other thread about men shaving their happy parts, and some people's contention that one's level of hairiness was proportional to one's level of manliness.

There was a 'crowd' that was into it when I was in HS. This was before AIDS just to give you some perspective on the timing. A couple of teen pregnancies. Folks were pretty careful about babies because there was no morning-after pill and abortions were only available in extreme situations or through shady connections.

It started about grade 8, those girls were considered street trash tho and as an earlier poster said you didn't expect the boys or girls involved to finish high school.

By the time you were 18 lots of people had experience. If you were in a longish relationship it was not any big deal but if you did it after a party with a somewhat random partner it still was considered trashy and would set you up for every guy to hit on you at every party for months.

As far as level of knowledge about STD's (we just called it VD though) it's probably the same as today. You get taught, you tend to forget all the details and you, being a teen, just know it can't happen to you so you don't have to remember it. The focus, when there was any, was on baby-prevention far more than disease.

All in all I think there is a little more going on today. People talk about it more, which removes the social negative. That is reinforced by TV/Movies which are also more graphic and desensitize us.

damn, thats scary stuff, never saw any of that kinda action in high skule, most ppl were just on stable relationships that never went past 3rd base. Tho my skule was pretty asian and most kidz were conservatives, I also noticed that the less educated in my skule were the ones who would be more.....loose (both sexes), but I can only state for UHS, dunno abuot other skulez, although when I was at Thornlea, defenitely noticed more Ho's there..
