Next time you think about voting for the federal liberals.. think about what economist Micheal Campbell has to say:

This is why I can't figure out why the lieberals still have such support. I mean anyone paying taxes has to be wondering how their taxes are being spent...

After just paying my 4 figure tax bill.. it pi$$es me off to think that it could be squandered in another liberal spending spree.

No, conservative tax cuts, not gun registries, useless daycare programs etc.
You obviously didn't read the article.

Why do you say that? They haven't had a chance in over 12 years..
I think its time for a change..If you don't give them a chance, you just get more billion dollar gun registry funding.. and more 'white envelopes' stuffed full of taxpayer money to liberal supporters.
Past conservative governments never had the scandals that the current liberals have.

First, the gun registry is important to maintaining the safety of our Canadian cities and not having them overrun with gang violence and weapons. Second, if you don't have children, then obviously you will think a daycare program is useless, but for working class citizens with young children, this program saves a lot of time and hassle. Third, have you forgotten so easily who introduced GST? Crooks like Brian Mulroney should never have gotten into office and by not electing his party again, we can ensure that. 12 years is simply not enough time for me to get over GST.

The difference is they were not found guilty. It was pretty well known that PC gave good fat posts to their own supporters when they were in power.
All governments waste money one way or the other. Harper can waste money in miltary, the shield program that US asked, etc. They did not have the chance does not mean they will not be the same as any "normal" government. There are smart corruption and dumb corruption. Liberals demostrated the dumb version of it.

First, the gun registry doesn't stop criminals from owning guns. I think hiring more police officers would help stop gang violence more than wasting money on a bureaucratic process.
Second, Daycare programs only benefit those that choose to let their kids go to daycare, what about those that choose to raise their own kids? They get SQUAT.
Third, Cretien was elected because he was going to 'abolish' the GST.. never happened. Do the liberals need more than 12 years to get rid of the GST?

They had to do something to balance the previous spending of the liberal governments. It was either the gst, or cut funding to social programs.

You are right. PC = less taxes.
liberals = more taxes, more spending, they recently cancelled corporate tax cuts to gain ndp support.

Because of the pressure from the conservatives.. you can bet if the liberals kept listening to the ndp, you taxes would not have gone down.

That happened over 10 years ago. The present leadership has nothing to do with those guys.
The present liberal leadership has a lot to do with the current scandals.
Are you saying that the conservative policy of cutting taxes, and reducing spending is going to cost taxpayers more than liberal spending increases?

And that is THE PROBLEM. They were not the same Conservative as before. If this is the PC, I will vote for them.
In fact, I voted for one of the 3 PC that could get a seat in the year of Kim Campbell .. the one from Markham riding. I would have voted for him again the 2nd term if he did not jump ship to Reform. Conservative has the name of Conservative but it is Reform.

And that makes them even better. More right = even less taxes.
Its sad that you would rather vote for corruption than reduced taxes.

If life is that simple, it will be an easy choice. The chance is they promise you the world and can't deliver just like Ontario Liberals.
I said that Ontario Liberals could not deliver what they promised before the election. And, I can safely say Conservative will not deliver what they promised.

Less tax != take home more money. They should shift your spending elsewhere. That is less federal tax, more provincial tax, more property tax, more pay service. The bottom line is there is no difference.
I prefer a government who can manage instead of just save a few bucks.

All government has corruption. The difference is smart or dumb.
As I said when I chose Ontario Conservative instead of Ontario Liberals. I know how bad Ontario Conservative will be but I don't know how bad Ontario Liberals will be.
Replace Ontario Conservative with Federal Liberals and replace Ontario Liberals with Federal Conservative.

What is wrong with a user pay system?
Why should my tax dollars go to funding daycares if my wife stays home to take care of our kids?

Because as Canadian, we like to help our neighbours. If you have to ask, I would say why do I need to pay more tax when I have more income? I am only a person of 1 same as the bum on the street.

So, you prefer smart corrupt?
Let me put it this way. Do you want a smart guy to keep your money while asking a dumb person to watch him? Or, a dumb guy to keep your money while asking a smart person to watch him? The one who steals your house usually is the smart criminal.

I guess that is the difference between a liberal and a conservative.
conservative = has the choice to help your neighbour.
liberal = government forces you to help your neighbour with taxes.

If this is the only factor, I will choose liberal because I say the community is safer. You need to pay your "protection" one way or the other. Yes, you are forced to but you know you are not the only one.
Let me put it this way, I already contribute my share for most of my life. Are you saying I will not get anything back at the time I need to be taken care in the future?

So just because your not the only one getting ripped off makes it ok?
I say that you should take care of yourself, and not rely on the government to do it for you through taxes.
and you might not get any government benefits if you saved too much during your working years. Benefits have a tendency to get clawed back when retirement income rises.

Well, this is Canadian way. Canadian takes care of people who cannot take care of themselves. I do not consider that as ripped off.
Spending money in the wrong place (such as corruption, gun control, early election) are rip off.
I have no problem giving my helping hands and force you to spread yours too. :D If you consider that is rip off, yes, I am helping them to rip you off. ;)
