Exactly as the title states. What do you shave / wax / pluck / nair? This is an anoymous poll incase some people are bashfull.

Chest includes stomach, so if you do one or the other, choose that option.

EDIT: Females can state what they shave in the thread, but I didn't have enough options... and it's normally obvious what they shave. Legs, Pits, Pluck Eyebrows, Bikini line and sometimes "Cookie".

Shave my face and keep the man region neatly trimmed. Sure, its a pain but the rewards FAR outweigh the work involved.

Trust me guys, she will love you a lot more(wink, wink) if you take care of it down there. And you'll love her more for doing it :)

I only shave my face and my head. I'm 25 and started loosing my hair when I was 19-20 so I figured why bother and just started shaving it off, its much easier and actually I look dam good bald. As for all you guys who shave the lower area's, your a tougher man than I. I'll NEVER let a razor see that area unless some super model says she'll screw me if I do. lol

Exactly! This thread may actually be a valuable lesson to some guys out there with pubes that would make any woman want to turn and run! LOL Just think... do you prefer a jungle down there, or for it to be nicely groomed or completely shaved? Show the same respect to your lady ;) You are often greatly rewarded for the efforts! :D  :D

Having a clean region is just proper respect. I wouldn't invite someone over for dinner in a messy unprepared place.

I am really suprised at the results. I didn't think that 25% of men shave or trim their pits. I thought it was a lot less given the heat I received when I stated I did. We are basically in the age of a neat and proper man; not a mustache, hairy chest and back, and some dude named "Biff".

When I'm on the scene I keep clean. If I know I have no one to impress, I just shave my face about 1 - 2 times a week. My chest once every 1 - 2 months. Lower back (I get some fuzz there) every 2-3 months and always keep the General's lawn clear of debris. ;-)

I'm very hairy too, I think we all should generally stick together and stop this femalizing the males trend which is going on. Shaving legs, chest, arms...leave it to women.

And it's not exactly double standard, so many people get it confused. They say, if the women has to do it why shouldn't the man. That's the problem, the standards for being a female involve being less hairy, having thin eyebrows, etc.

On the other hand, standards for being a man are scientifically measured by the level of testostrone which technically boils down to the more body hair the more manly you are.

Mass media likes to put this image in men's head that men are supposed to have their bodies shaved like women and unfortunately many people fall for that, specially teenagers who are in an age that don't want others to make fun of them.

All and all, if you start falling for this trap you're putting the whole male population in trouble for further advertizing that men (in contrasst with natural and scientific standards) should have a completely clean shaven body.

How is shaving "femalizing"?

And it's not exactly double standard, so many people get it confused. They say, if the women has to do it why shouldn't the man. That's the problem, the standards for being a female involve being less hairy, having thin eyebrows, etc.
For the double standard, we are talking about the pubic region. It's also not a double standard, it's respect for your lady.

On the other hand, standards for being a man are scientifically measured by the level of testostrone which technically boils down to the more body hair the more manly you are.

"Scientifically"? Eh? I call ********. I shave most of my hair. Because I don't have any, I'm not "manly" or I'm "less manly"? Give me a break. If I let it grow for 4 months, I suddenly become manly?

Stop making things up. Teenages want hair. It makes them more adult.

There's no trap. There's no science behind this, you are talking out your ass. It's a preference. Just like it's your preference to have hair.

Advertizing that the male body should look like a woman's to be clean is femalizing.

where in my post did you read anything about pubic region?

Look, I'm sorry if you're naturally not very hairy, google the male hormone called testostrone and its effects and characteristics. Shaving your hair is not going to bring down your testostrone level, my point was that you're celeberating looking like a female by getting rid of what would scientifically show your manliness.

Stop making things up. Teenages want hair. It makes them more adult.

Again, I guess you're not very hairy. The ones that don't have hair , want hair but the ones that have it are ashamed of it. No matter how many admit to it, that's the way it goes. I'm mainly talking about body hair, not facial hair, as facial hair is widely known amongest everyone to show a sign of maturity, whether it be metro-sexuals like you or others.

There's no trap. There's no science behind this, you are talking out your ass. It's a preference. Just like it's your preference to have hair.
Again, I recommend putting down that fashion magazine for a second and start reading some scientific journals for a change.

A clean male body is a body that smells good. A male body without hair (shaved or natural) is a male body without hair. Just because you think that a male body without hair is womanly, doesn't mean jack.

where in my post did you read anything about pubic region?

Where is anyone's post did you read something about a doublestandard. There's no doublestandard. Men can choose to hairless or not, it's up to them.

Show me where hair scientifically signifies manliness. That's right, you can't. Just because I shave the hair I have doesn't mean the hair wouldn't be there, it just means I don't want it there.

Again, I guess you're not very hairy. The ones that don't have hair , want hair but the ones that have it are ashamed of it. No matter how many admit to it, that's the way it goes. That's right. I am a metro-sexual, just because you are not doesn't make you any more man than I. You have no idea how much or how little hair I have. I wouldn't have to get rid of the hair if I had none, now would I?

Again, I recommend putting down that fashion magazine for a second and start reading some scientific journals for a change.
Again, I recommend in putting down the homophobic stick and this attitude that you are a mans man and better than anyone that prefers to be less hairy than yourself. You have nothing to back up anything you are saying, you are spewing off at the mouth worse things than I spew out my ass after eating Taco Bell and corn.

That wasn't a response to anyone specific in this thread, just my past expriences of someone who thinks like that:
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/showthread.php?t=147508&highlight=shave

Show me where hair scientifically signifies manliness. That's right, you can't. Just because I shave the hair I have doesn't mean the hair wouldn't be there, it just means I don't want it there.

Read my posts next time before making yourself look like an idiot. I even specifically said
"Shaving your hair is not going to bring down your testostrone level, my point was that you're celeberating looking like a female by getting rid of what would scientifically show your manliness."

But I guess your brain is busy right now figuring out whether to shave or wax, so not enough time to read and understand people's posts.

Again, let me put it in simple words so even a busy person like you would understand. Testostrone is a male hormone which controls male's body hair growth amongst other things (such as libido and agressiveness and thicker voice). Scientifically and by nature the more testostrone you have the more of a man you are. Since this hormone is responsible for your body hair, your abundance/lack of body hair can signify the amount of your testostrone. Now here's where you got me wrong last time. I didn't say if you shave your body hair you become a women scientifically, I said you are making yourself "look like" a women. If that's hard to understand let me set you an example that even a metro like you would understand, it's like you wearing a lipstick. It doesn't make you any less manly in biological terms it makes you less manly in the way you look. meh, why do I even bother I know you're gonna say something stupid again, but don't worry I'll be here to finally help you understand it.

That's right. I am a metro-sexual, just because you are not doesn't make you any more man than I. You have no idea how much or how little hair I have. I wouldn't have to get rid of the hair if I had none, now would I?

Again, you're not getting the point. It's not about "being a man" or not, it's about what makes you "look like" a man or woman. You might be the hairiest man on earth and still shave to look like Jennifer Lopez. Doesn't make you a women, but makes you look like a woman.

Hurk I didn't get anything homophobic out of scorpion's point. But I do agree with the point he was making which is that this is all making men more prone to be high-maintenance consumers.

How about make-up for the modern metrosexual? I am not suggesting you're a homosexual if you use make-up. I am suggesting that men with make-up that are trying to attract women is not very far off. The cosmetics industry today has only 50% of the available market because men have so far not caught on.......

How about makeup? What about it? I don't personally use it, nor would I recommend it. I think it's a bit too far, but I wouldn't look down on a person or start calling them nancy boy. I wouldn't assume that he has no hair or less of a man just because he puts on makeup.

You guys shave your man region? And who's the guy who shaves his legs?

What a bunch of clowns. Wait 'til your mom finds out.

In the meantime, slap on some ruby-red lipstick on those juicy lips of yours, and slip those sexy hairless feet into some comfortable high heels. Because now it's your time to shine. Just show 'em what you've got!

These guys call themselves men?

Yeah right.

What these "men" really need are some quality beatings -- just enough of them to drill the idea into their heads that shaving certain areas below the waist is a big no-no.

Real manhood awaits you around the corner. Catch up to it before it slips away -- for good.

Tell me something Nancy, how does removing hair from your body make you any less than a man? Oh that's right, it doesn't. You're an idiot from Montreal who would beat their kid, their wife if they did something you don't like. Good job, way to keep the population bruised and beaten.

It's people like you who can't see past their nose, that cause the issues in the world today.

Tiberius
May 4th, 2005, 08:29 AM
removing hair from hygenic regions (pits and man region for example) shouldn't be seen as 'unmanly'... and certain cosmetic regions should also get the appropriate attention! (i.e. have you ever seen nose hairs sticking out of some old guys nose and just been totally grossed out by it? Those should be trimmed!)

I agree that if someone goes to the trouble of keeping their body completely hairless (chest, back, arms, legs, etc.) then it has become some sort of vanity thing.

Given the hairiness of your average Quebecer (women included), I'm not surprised by this attitude.

Here's a tip, Yves: your unibrow doesn't make you a man. But your wife's moustache just might.
