View Full Version : What is a "Sponsored Poster"?

A sponsored poster is a small business or large quantity seller who has paid for the privilege of posting in the RedFlagDeals.com Buy, Sell, and Trade forums. They are bound by the same rules of posting as any other RFD user with the exception of the rule against large quantity sales. RFD does in no way vouch for the legitimacy of the "Sponsored Poster" and normal precautions should be taken when dealing with them. If you would like more information on becoming a "Sponsored Poster" please contact biz@redflagdeals.com

UPDATE: Being a business posting, the second rule that they will be excluded from is the no tax rule. Sponsored posters will be able to charge tax.

Updated - August 17, 2006: Please check out the updated information on being a Sponsored Poster

i think that is a good idea then if ppl are looking for lets say for sure brand new items or something like that they don't have to go searching through the BST section's just to find these sellers they should have there own section

just a little info .... bringing back dead threads really pisses people off , especially if you did it only for attention or to heighten your post count . :)

Locking up all of my threads in effort to try force sellers wiht the sponsor poster thing... nice move.. but your sponsor poster offers too little for 50/month

I would agree with this as well.

Is there room for negotiation? If so, I'd like to make an offer for the next 6 months.

Please let me know.

While I post as methodically and religiously as any BOT online...I hardly sell enough to justify being a sponsored poster.

Nevertheless...out of a sense of gratitude for RFD and my savings et. al acquired directly therefrom, I decided to be a sponsored poster a few months back.

I believe I did it for about 5 months. I think I broke even with my trades and deals, if that-so once vibe of 'giving back' to RFD wore thin and my losses were becoming more significant...I said enough is enough and backed out.

My biggest gripe was:

#1 not enough extra pm space
#2 had to abide by the same bump rules??????
#2 had to abide by the same 'active thread' rules??????

What kind of logic is that? an SP is being asked to pay $43 or whatever it is now...but can only advertise as much as a NON SP? Seemed a little unreasonable.

I also discussed with one of the admins if a lower rate could be negotiated for those who just aren't making that much to justify paying the full amount each month, but who would feel more inclined to continue paying a lower rate otherwise...but was politely told nothing else was possible.

I should tell you, imho there are a LOT of high-tier sellers on RFD that are blatantly selling way beyond the rules...and I don't see them being strong armed as the cellular sellers are into becoming SPs. This is a peculiarity I've noticed regularly.

I believe extra PM space for Sponsored Poster is definitely needed.
Also, more than 2 bumping per day should also be considered to allow Sponsor poster's ad stands out more from others.

I hope RFD mod can take this into consideration.

Thanks!
