GTA folks still looking to pick up RAM in-store...

It has been confirmed by myself and at least another member that these "Major" brand sticks from Filtech have Hynix chips. This is the first sighting of a local shop selling branded chips for under $50 for 512MB.
Even if you don't need it, pick up a stick or two...keeping in the spirit of RFD in buying things because they're cheap :cheesygri

I can't compare them directly...but Kingston Value uses Hynix chips as well, does it not? I don't know if the Kingston chips are the same as the cheaper stuff but if they are, I'd suppose they'd be comparable other than the PCB that they're stuck on...I ain't no RAM guru though :)

filtech and RTO computers same boss, just to let you know.
BTW, many branded value ram uses Hynix chips like GEIL Value, Kingston value etc etc
They are quite overclockable if you feed them like 2.8-2.9V, they should do 220mhz.

I haven't heard of RTO computers. Is it a local store? Any good? (Filtech seems to be useful for its low prices. I haven't actually bought anything there.)
