Wow! a price match worth my time. Let's not go all at once so that they can change the price or go OOS's by pulling stock.

Can we order on line? Where the link.

Not so - Zeller's has a limit of 4 and as per Staples policy: If our competitor limits the quantity you can purchase, we can only match the price for the same quantity as the competitor offers. If the competitor says, “while supplies last, we will gladly honour the price after we check to make sure the competitor has the item in-stock and available to purchase through them.

Staples will match any advertised lower price for an identical item and then beat it by 50% of the difference (up to a maximum of $50). In otherwords, $3.32 - 1.5(3.32-1.37). That will yield a price of $0.40. The $0.15 was based on buying two and using a coupon for $0.50 off (from P&G).

Success. There's a Staples on my route home from work so I figured I'd give it a shot. Plus, the MOD last week was a bit of a PITA when I went to PM the Motorola 2-way radios. So I figured this was a bit of payback.

THERE IS NO LIST!

According to Staples web site there is a list AND none of your links would do anything to indicate otherwise...if your MOD does this it is their good will and not because they have too.

We will gladly guarantee our price against the following selected Canadian competitors: Future Shop, Best Buy, Grand & Toy, Office Depot, Corporate Express, Basics, Bureau Plus, London Drugs, Lyreco, and The Brick, Canadian Tire, Office Max, Denis. In many cases, items bought from the U.S. (or internationally) are not warranted by any Canadian manufacturer. In order to save you potential problems, we only sell items with Canadian warranties. Because of this, as well as duty costs, shipping, brokerage, and exchange fluctuations, we do not price match items shipping from destinations or websites outside of Canada.

I have a bunch of $1 off Dawn coupons (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/showthread.php?t=151241) so it is possible to get this for free. I asked my spouse if we should buy Dawn from Zellers for only 37¢, but I got screamed at that we don't need any more dishwashing liquid. I guess I'll have to pass on getting all of Staples' Dawn for free.

Success.

Well, the list is only for internet competitors that the B&M and staples.ca will PM. Staples.ca will only PM from the list. The B&M stores will (should if they know their own policy) PM any internet ad from the list PLUS any local B&M competitor. If someone doesn't believe me, then why is Zellers option #4 on Staples' cash registers and why is Option #19 on the register for "OTHER"?

I did pm the dawn product, 4 of them in fact. their reaction? "only 1 per customer, that's our policy." where in their policy that says you can only buy 1 with a PM. I mean say if I was to buy or have bought 100 of these for my acme cleaning co., would they deny me and allow only 1? Or better yet, if was to buy 100 of these plus other cleaning supplies and they deny me allow only 1? That would mean they lose me as customer and the sale for the supplies. Always thought a depot is bigbox store where I can pick up large quantities of merchandise?

The reason is that they will Price Match a local competitor not on the list ... the list comes into play when you want them to beat it be 150%....These are 2 DIFFERENT things...one is to say they will match prices ... the other is that they will BEAT the price of those on the list....

Apr 13th, 2005, 05:04 PM
As I stated in another thread, I did it (I bought 3). It wasn't a big deal to them at all. BTW I went there to purchase other items. The PM was a bonus.

Note: Staples has always carried such items along with coffee et al. The reason being is convenience. Why go to another store to stock your staff room/kitchen when you can just as easily purchase these items plus your office supplies at one location.

Your supposed to present "proof", ad, reciept, webpage. You might be able to get some to call, a bit much to ask them to do that for the dish soap.
