hi,
i want to take several chapters from different dvds and create a 1 disc compilation. does anyone know of an easy way of doing this? I used dvd decrypter to rip the dvds and now im using tmpgenc to edit the chapters of the first dvd. But now im getting all these error messages when i try to load the second dvd file for editing (it is of different format, either video isnt the same aspect ratio, sound isnt the same).
any suggestions. thanks in advance!

I think you can use DVDShrink .... However, you will have no menu structure for playback ... Have to use 'chapter-skip' to move around ...
1. Copy all the source DVD onto the HD (you've done that).
2. Use 'Re-author' mode to copy the first movie containing the first chapter that you want to the 'target' panel (on the left side).
3. Select the chapter by removing all the unwanted ones.
4. Select the second movie from the source panel (on the right side).
5. Goto Step 3.

I wish you had Nero Ultra, it will be soooo easy...
Using Nero's movie creation menu...
You could drag and drop any combination of VOB's from anything
you like, and with its autodetect feature, not only can you create
the main menu, you can also add chapters autromatically because
Nero has a neat feature which will detect abrupt scene change and
create a bookmark for it. This bookmark if you let it go will automatically
become a chapter. You can choose any parts that you want to become
chapters.
