I recently gave away my old HP scanner and the driver CD's that came with it. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed recently and there was a bonus software that came with the scanner CD's that I used to re-touch photos- I believe it was called Adobe Photo Deluxe (?) I now do not have any software that touches up photos. Can anyone recommend freeware/shareware that is able to manipulate photos? Thanks!

I have been using picasa as my basic image grabber... I just plug in my sony dscW1 cybershot and picasa opens up and downloads (or uploads?) all the pics AND the VIDEOS too!!! You can play those vidz in picassa as well. And the window transitions are pretty cool... kinda borrowing from mac osx alot. Its a nice ACDSEE type proggy with basic touchups like red eye reduction and the like.

I second that! For the majority of photos I have to edit, I like this program; fast, easy, and they also have a feature, just underneath the contrast and color adjustment fix buttons that can lighten a photo tremendously without ruining the photo. The red-eye feature is pretty good, and I love making photo collages on Picasa with just a few clicks, and sending them to family. I use this as my main program to take photos off of my CF card as well; far better in speed over Canon's zoombrowser.

Hi. I've downloaded and tried them all. The Paintshop Pro 4 download was what I was after. It allows me to retouch/repair photos using a clone feature that the other softwares do not offer. Thanks to peterbrowne and all the other suggestions. :D
