Hey folks.
For sale is this IBM PC, model 2179-71U.
More information regarding this model can be found HERE (http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?subcategoryind=0&familyind=50243&brandind=14&doccategoryind=0&modelind=77258&doctypeind=3&validate=true&partnumberind=0&template=%2Fproductpage%2Flandingpages%2FproductPa geLandingPage.vm&operatingsystemind=49983&machineind=73138)
The configuration right now is :
Intel Celeron 633 Mhz (cpu can be upgraded but I dont know how fast it supports)
64 Mbytes ram (can be upgraded of course)
NO hard drive (I removed the HD to install on another system)
24X slim CDROM
1.44 Floppy drive
keyboard and mouse
04 USB ports
onboard network 10/100
onboard 56K modem
Windows 2000 license sticker
2 PCI slots (low profile)
onboard sound
internal speakers
onboard video (AGP)
and an integrated 15" LCD monitor
The floppy and cdrom are built in and the compartment can be closed/opened when needed. Look at the third picture.
The computer works fine, however if you move it around (which does not make sense since it's not a laptop) it sometimes does not power on. But ONLY if you move it or open it. When it happened before, I just shook it a little bit and it works again. Must be something inside a little loose.
I bought this PC from a dealer and it was working at the time. Brought it home and it worked just fine...installed O/S, drivers....then I moved it to the living room and it did not work...then moved it around a little bit and it works again.
I just moved to a new house and brought it in a box, and just powered it on just fine. Pictures below ARE ACTUAL.
Anyways, all you need is a HD and you're ready to go.
Asking price : $ 125.00
